The Indiana Fever and Atlanta Dream meet Sunday afternoon at State Farm Arena in one of the biggest Eastern Conference games of the second half of the 2026 WNBA season.
Indiana enters at 22-12, riding a three-game winning streak and sitting atop the Eastern Conference. Atlanta is only a half-game behind at 21-12 and has won two straight. The Dream have been particularly strong at home, posting a 12-5 record, while Indiana enters at 9-6 on the road.
Atlanta is a 2.5-point favorite with the total set at 188.5. The number reflects just how evenly matched these teams appear entering the fourth and final regular-season meeting.
The Dream lead the season series 2-1.
Indiana won the opening matchup 83-71 on June 4, but Atlanta responded by winning 108-101 at Indiana on June 18 before dominating the Fever 113-96 in Atlanta two days later.
Sunday’s matchup also features six of the league’s most dangerous players.
Indiana counters with Caitlin Clark, Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston.
Atlanta answers with Rhyne Howard, Allisha Gray and Angel Reese.
The result could ultimately determine which team gains control of the Eastern Conference entering the final portion of the regular season.
Player-prop numbers and prices can move before tipoff. The lines below were available Saturday morning and should be verified at your sportsbook before wagering.
Kelsey Mitchell has become one of the hottest scorers in basketball.
The Indiana guard enters Sunday averaging 24.3 points per game, but that season-long number doesn’t tell the complete story.
Mitchell has averaged 28.3 points over her last 10 games. She has scored more than 25.5 points in eight of those 10 contests, including performances of 28, 27, 28, 37, 26, 28, 33 and 30 points. Her current points prop sits at 25.5.
That consistency makes the over attractive.
Indiana scores 96.3 points per game, one of the most explosive offensive averages in the league, and Mitchell is the Fever’s leading scorer.
Atlanta already knows how dangerous Indiana’s backcourt can be.
During the June 18 meeting, Mitchell and Clark each scored 26 points despite Atlanta ultimately winning 108-101.
Mitchell is playing some of the best basketball of her career.
She is Indiana’s leading scorer, remains aggressive from three-point range and benefits from defenses having to devote significant attention to Clark.
The 188.5-point game total also suggests oddsmakers expect plenty of offense.
If Indiana approaches 95 points, Mitchell should have a realistic path to 27 or more.
Atlanta is significantly better defensively than many teams Mitchell has faced recently.
The Dream allow only 85.5 points per game, compared with Indiana allowing 90.3.
Atlanta also has multiple perimeter defenders capable of making Mitchell work for every possession.
If Clark becomes the dominant scorer or Boston controls the paint, Mitchell could see fewer opportunities.
Still, recent form makes the over difficult to ignore.
Bet: Kelsey Mitchell Over 25.5 Points
Angel Reese remains one of the most relentless rebounders in the WNBA.
She enters Sunday averaging 12.0 rebounds per game, leading Atlanta and ranking among the league’s premier players on the glass. Her available rebounding line was 11.5 Saturday morning.
The matchup creates additional opportunity.
Atlanta forward Brionna Jones is currently listed out with a leg injury. Guard Te-Hina Paopao is also unavailable.
Jones’ absence could place even more responsibility on Reese around the basket.
That’s important against Indiana because Boston is one of the league’s strongest interior players and averages 8.5 rebounds herself.
Reese doesn’t require Atlanta to run plays for her to accumulate rebounds.
Her production comes from positioning, effort and anticipation.
She attacks offensive rebounds as aggressively as almost anyone in the league and averages approximately five offensive boards per game as part of her 12.0 overall average.
Jones being unavailable further strengthens the opportunity.
More frontcourt minutes and fewer rebounds shared with another proven interior player could push Reese into the 13-to-15 rebound range.
Indiana shoots 49 percent from the field.
That’s important.
The simplest way to prevent Reese from collecting defensive rebounds is to make shots.
Boston is also an excellent rebounder and possesses enough size and strength to prevent Reese from dominating every missed shot.
Still, Reese’s rebounding role is too significant to overlook.
Bet: Angel Reese Over 11.5 Rebounds
Rhyne Howard enters Sunday’s game with considerable momentum.
Howard scored 29 points in Atlanta’s 104-69 victory over Connecticut on Thursday, helping the Dream record one of their most convincing victories of the season.
Her current points prop is around 16.5, slightly below her 17.8-point season average.
That combination immediately makes the over interesting.
Howard has also already demonstrated that she can produce against Indiana.
She scored 24 points when Atlanta defeated the Fever 113-96 on June 20.
Indiana’s biggest weakness is defense.
The Fever allow 90.3 points per game, while Atlanta averages exactly 90.0.
Howard’s combination of three-point shooting, transition scoring and ability to create her own shot makes her particularly dangerous against a team willing to play fast.
She also doesn’t need an extraordinary performance to clear 16.5.
A 7-for-15 shooting night with a couple of three-pointers could be enough.
Atlanta has plenty of mouths to feed.
Gray averages 19.2 points, Reese averages 15.6 and Jordin Canada controls significant portions of the offense.
Howard therefore doesn’t need to score 20-plus for Atlanta to win.
Indiana could also aggressively force the ball out of her hands after watching her score 29 against Connecticut.
But at 16.5, the number remains attractive.
Bet: Rhyne Howard Over 16.5 Points
Caitlin Clark’s scoring numbers receive plenty of attention, but her three-point prop provides a more manageable betting target.
Clark enters Sunday’s matchup averaging 2.7 made three-pointers per game, with sportsbooks offering a line of 2.5.
Three made threes is certainly attainable for a player with Clark’s range and shooting volume.
More importantly, Atlanta’s defensive personnel could encourage Indiana to attack from the perimeter rather than repeatedly challenging Reese inside.
Clark rarely lacks opportunity.
Indiana’s offense places the basketball in her hands, and her shooting range forces defenses to guard her several feet beyond the three-point line.
She is also capable of reaching three made threes in one quarter if she gets hot.
The game environment helps.
Both teams have been scoring efficiently recently, and a 188.5 total suggests Indiana may need another strong offensive performance to win.
Clark is averaging 8.3 assists per game, so Atlanta cannot simply sell out to stop her shot. Helping too aggressively opens Boston, Mitchell and Indiana’s other weapons.
Atlanta’s defense is legitimate.
The Dream allow just 85.5 points per game and have already held Indiana to 71 points once this season.
Atlanta could also trap Clark early and attempt to turn her into a distributor.
There is a minor health consideration as well: Clark dealt with an ankle issue during Friday’s win over Dallas, although she returned and was able to play in the second half.
If Indiana manages her workload or Clark focuses more heavily on creating for Mitchell and Boston, three made threes becomes less certain.
Bet: Caitlin Clark Over 2.5 Three-Pointers Made
This isn’t simply another August regular-season game.
Indiana is 22-12.
Atlanta is 21-12.
Only half a game separates them at the top of the Eastern Conference.
Indiana enters with three consecutive victories.
Atlanta has won two straight.
The Fever have scored 90 or more in three consecutive games, including a 106-92 victory against New York and Friday’s win over Dallas. Atlanta counters after scoring 107 against Toronto and 104 against Connecticut.
These aren’t struggling teams attempting to rediscover their identity.
Both are playing winning basketball.
That should create one of Sunday’s most competitive games.
Indiana won the first meeting.
Atlanta has controlled everything since.
The Fever defeated the Dream 83-71 on June 4.
Two weeks later, Atlanta went into Indianapolis and produced a 108-101 victory.
Then the series shifted to Atlanta.
The Dream responded with an even more impressive performance, defeating Indiana 113-96 and setting a franchise scoring record at the time. Howard scored 24 points, Gray contributed 22 and Reese finished with 18 points and eight rebounds.
Atlanta therefore enters Sunday’s fourth meeting knowing its system works against Indiana.
The Dream can score with the Fever.
They can attack Indiana’s defense.
And they have enough perimeter scoring that Indiana cannot focus exclusively on Reese.
That’s a major reason Atlanta deserves to be favored at home.
Indiana’s argument begins with one of the best offensive trios in basketball.
Kelsey Mitchell.
Caitlin Clark.
Aliyah Boston.
Mitchell leads Indiana at 24.3 points per game.
Clark controls the offense and averages 8.3 assists.
Boston leads the Fever with 8.5 rebounds while shooting efficiently around the basket.
Their skill sets complement one another almost perfectly.
Clark creates pressure from several feet behind the three-point line.
Mitchell attacks defenses as a scorer.
Boston gives Indiana an interior option who punishes teams for overcommitting to the guards.
That’s why the Fever average 96.3 points per game and shoot 49 percent from the field.
Atlanta may have the stronger defense.
Indiana has the stronger offense.
Something has to give.
Clark may generate the most attention, but Mitchell has arguably been Indiana’s most consistent scorer.
Her recent production is remarkable.
Over her last 10 games, Mitchell is averaging 28.3 points and has scored at least 26 points eight times.
That changes how opponents must defend Indiana.
Teams cannot simply blitz Clark and assume someone else will have to beat them.
Mitchell can.
Leave her open on the perimeter and she can hit the three.
Close aggressively and she can attack off the dribble.
Send additional help and Boston becomes available inside.
Atlanta’s perimeter defenders must find a way to contain both Fever guards without creating easy opportunities elsewhere.
Atlanta’s interior advantage begins with Reese.
Her 12.0 rebounds per game give the Dream a major presence on both ends of the floor.
Reese changes possessions.
An Atlanta miss doesn’t necessarily end the possession when she is near the basket.
That’s particularly important against Indiana.
The Fever want to play quickly.
Every offensive rebound Reese collects prevents Indiana from getting into transition.
Instead of Clark attacking a retreating defense, Atlanta gets another possession.
That battle might become even more important with Jones ruled out.
The Dream need Reese to remain out of foul trouble and dominate the glass.
Gray leads Atlanta at 19.2 points per game, but Howard might be the player capable of completely changing Sunday’s matchup.
When Howard catches fire from three, Atlanta becomes extremely difficult to defend.
She enters after scoring 29 against Connecticut and is already averaging 17.8 points while producing 2.4 steals per game.
Those steals matter against Clark.
Indiana plays fast and accepts some risk in exchange for offensive creativity.
Clark’s passing can create spectacular assists.
It can also provide transition opportunities when defenders correctly anticipate the play.
Howard’s ability to turn a steal into a transition three or layup could swing the game.
Caitlin Clark, Guard, Fever: Clark enters averaging 8.3 assists per game and remains the engine behind Indiana’s high-powered offense. Her ability to handle Atlanta’s perimeter pressure will be critical.
Kelsey Mitchell, Guard, Fever: Mitchell leads Indiana with 24.3 points per game and has averaged 28.3 over her last 10. Atlanta cannot allow her to establish an early rhythm.
Aliyah Boston, Center, Fever: Boston leads Indiana with 8.5 rebounds per game and provides the Fever with their primary answer for Reese inside.
Rhyne Howard, Guard, Dream: Howard enters after a 29-point performance and has already scored 24 in a victory over Indiana this season.
Allisha Gray, Guard, Dream: Gray leads Atlanta with 19.2 points per game and gives the Dream another scorer Indiana must respect on every possession.
Angel Reese, Forward, Dream: Reese’s 12.0 rebounds per game make her one of the league’s premier players on the glass. With Jones out, her interior role becomes even more important.
Jordin Canada, Guard, Dream: Canada averages 7.5 assists per game, making her Atlanta’s primary distributor and the player responsible for keeping Howard, Gray and Reese involved.
Indiana’s first priority must be protecting the defensive glass.
Allowing Reese to repeatedly create second-chance opportunities would make an already difficult road matchup considerably harder.
Boston must remain physical without getting into foul trouble.
Second, Indiana needs Clark and Mitchell to control tempo.
The Fever average more than 96 points per game because they play efficiently and put constant pressure on opposing defenses.
They don’t want this to become a slow half-court game.
Third, Indiana needs to reduce turnovers.
Atlanta averages nine steals per game, compared with 6.6 for Indiana.
Every live-ball turnover can become an easy Atlanta basket.
Finally, Indiana must defend the three-point line.
Howard is particularly dangerous when she finds rhythm.
Allow her two open threes early and the entire complexion of the game can change.
Atlanta’s first priority should be controlling Indiana’s transition offense.
Clark becomes even more dangerous when the defense isn’t set.
The Dream need good shot selection and must avoid turnovers that send Mitchell and Clark racing the opposite direction.
Second, Atlanta must use Reese on the glass.
With Jones unavailable, Reese becomes even more important around the basket.
Third, the Dream need to make Clark defend.
Rather than allowing Indiana’s point guard to save energy for offense, Atlanta should repeatedly involve her in pick-and-roll actions and force her to work defensively.
Finally, Atlanta needs balanced scoring.
Howard doesn’t have to score 30.
Gray doesn’t have to score 25.
Reese doesn’t have to score 20.
The Dream are at their best when all three contribute and Canada organizes everything around them.
Atlanta -2.5 is a difficult number because Indiana enters in excellent form.
The Fever have won three straight and possess the more explosive offense.
But there are several reasons to prefer Atlanta.
The Dream are 12-5 at home.
They lead the season series 2-1.
They have beaten Indiana twice consecutively.
And Atlanta allows nearly five fewer points per game than the Fever.
That defensive difference could decide a close fourth quarter.
Indiana’s greatest advantage is scoring explosiveness.
If Clark and Mitchell start hitting threes, Atlanta may not be able to slow the game down enough to control it.
That brings the total into focus.
At 188.5, oddsmakers are already expecting a high-scoring game.
Two of the three previous meetings produced 209 combined points.
Indiana’s last three games have featured 176, 198 and 185 points, while Atlanta scored at least 104 in each of its last two victories.
The number is high, but both offenses are currently capable of pushing the game into the 90s.
Prediction: Dream 97, Fever 94
Pick: Atlanta Dream -2.5
Total Pick: Over 188.5
This should be one of Sunday’s best WNBA games.
Indiana possesses the more explosive offense and enters with a three-game winning streak.
Atlanta counters with home-court advantage, superior defensive numbers and a 2-1 advantage in the season series.
The decisive matchup should be Atlanta’s defense against Indiana’s backcourt.
Clark will create opportunities.
Mitchell should score.
Boston will make an impact inside.
But Atlanta has enough perimeter defense and enough offensive firepower to answer.
Reese’s rebounding should also become increasingly important during the final five minutes.
One offensive rebound can become an extra Howard three.
One second-chance basket can turn a one-point advantage into three.
In a matchup this close, those possessions matter.
Expect Mitchell to continue her tremendous scoring run, Clark to create offense from the perimeter and Boston to battle Reese around the basket.
Atlanta should answer with balanced scoring from Gray and Howard, while Reese controls enough rebounds to give the Dream additional possessions.
The game should remain close into the fourth quarter before Atlanta’s home-court advantage and defensive pressure create the decisive plays.
Final Score Prediction: Atlanta Dream 97, Indiana Fever 94
Best Bet: Atlanta Dream -2.5
Total Pick: Over 188.5
Top Player Prop: Kelsey Mitchell Over 25.5 Points
Additional Props: Angel Reese Over 11.5 Rebounds | Rhyne Howard Over 16.5 Points | Caitlin Clark Over 2.5 Three-Pointers Made
