What NBA Draft Prospects are The Wizards Most Attracted to?
Publicly, the Washington Wizards brought Dyson Daniels and Ochai Agbaji, Johnny Davis (Mark Williams), Blake Wesley, Jeremy Sochan, Tomas Satoransky, Tari Eason and Jaden Hardy to DC for pre-draft training in June. After the failed Spencer Dinwiddie experiment, they need a point guard. Tomas Satoransky is reportedly back in Spain, and Ish Smith has a team option that Washington may be unable to afford. However, that does not mean that point guard will be the selection.

I don’t expect men to act stupid around me or in front of our staff. But maybe they do. We’ll find out. We want to see your character.”

Sheppard stated, “I don’t worry about the noise outside, but I just look at him, and I know that he’s somebody you’ll build your franchise around.” Sheppard was referring to a fanbase that may not be happy with another supermax contract being awarded, which would hurt the team’s salary cap. Fans may disagree with Sheppard’s support for his head coach hiring last year. Jerry West, a Los Angeles legend, once advised Sheppard not to be afraid of taking big swings. Washington’s president sees the Russell Westbrook trade acquisitions and Kristaps Porzingis trading acquisitions as helping the Wizards in various ways without having to give away many future assets that could later be detrimental to an organization.
