Ayton is young and has the potential to become a top-level big man in the league. However, it may seem crazy for the Phoenix Suns to not offer him a max contract. Phoenix only has a limited window of opportunity. Given Chris Paul’s age, the Suns need to ensure that Devin Booker is paired with Paul and that the best players surround Paul. Ayton, 23, has questions. Ayton averaged 17.2 points per game and 10.2 rebounds per contest, but there are times when he doesn’t play up to his potential. He could be one of the reasons why the Phoenix Suns are not willing to sign him to a max contract.

According to rumors, the Phoenix Suns were interested in Jerami Grant at the deadline for trades. However, Detroit decided not to trade him. However, Grant may be traded. It will be interesting to see which route Detroit takes this summer.
A few of the Pistons’ young stars include Cade Cunningham and Saddiq Bey. Combining those two young stars with an Ayton-like center could be their best option.
This trade would put the Detroit Pistons on the right track to long-term success. Even though they might have a challenging year next year, the future for Detroit would be as bright as any team if they add Ayton.
