Indiana vs Illinois Preview
In a Big Ten rivalry matchup, the Indiana Hoosiers (11-6), meet with the Illinois Fighting Illini (13-5) on Thursday night. On Saturday, the Hoosiers won a home victory against Wisconsin. On Monday night, the Fighting Illini won a road victory against Minnesota.
The Hoosiers will enter this game with some confidence as they ended a three-game slide by winning 63-45 at home against Wisconsin on Saturday. The three-game losing streak that saw the Hoosiers lose to Iowa, Northwestern and Penn State included a defensive collapse. Indiana is currently a disappointing 2-4 in conference play. Trayce Jackson-Davis continues his brilliance. The senior forward has collected three consecutive double-doubles, including 24 rebounds against NW. Jackson-Davis’ average score has been 17.4 PPG and 9.9 RPG. Jalen Hood-Schifino is a productive player in conference play. He has scored at least 20 points in each of his four bouts. The freshman guard has averaged 13.4 PPG and is leading the Hoosiers in 4.5 APG. Miller Kopp has consecutively made at least half of his field goals in four games. The average scoring rate for the senior guard is 8.5 points per game. Race Thompson and Xavier Johnson remain out of action.
In Ken Poms ratings, the Hoosiers rank 29th in the nation. They have struggled on the road with a 1-4 record, including Iowa State and Penn State. Illinois Fighting Illini Betting Tips
The Illinois Fighting Illini seek to win their fifth consecutive victory. They defeated Michigan State by a score of 75-66 last weekend. They were also large 8.5-point favorites in an 80-69 road victory against Minnesota on Monday, which saw them climb to 4-3 in Big Ten play. He scored only 11 points and averages 17.6 PPG, and 5.7 RPG. Senior forward Matthew Mayer has increased his season average to 11.1 points per game and is now shooting 37% from beyond the arc. The Fighting Illini rank 21st in Ken Pom ratings. They could be back in the AP Top 25 if their conference play continues to shine. The Illinois record at home is 9-1.
