Top 10

Michael Jordan dominated the 1990s, and the Chicago Bulls won over half of the NBA Titles in the decade. Today we will take a look at the top ten players from the decade of the 1990s. The Bulls were the only great team in the decade but teams like Utah, Seattle, Houston, New York, Indiana and San Antonio made the 90s a fun decade.

10) Scottie Pippen

Let’s face it, Jordan’s team’s success didn’t start until the arrival of Scottie Pipper. Pippen was one of the best defenders in the game, and he could defend almost any position on the court.

9) John Stockton

Eight-time NBA All-Star, 1993 NBA All-Star Game MVP, Two-time All-NBA First Team, Seven-time NBA Assists Leader. Stockton was not known as a shooter, but during the 90s, he shot 52 per cent from the field. He was great at getting himself and others high percentage shots.

8) Patrick Ewing

Ewing was a great defender, but he was supposed to win the Knicks some NBA Titles, which never happened. He got close, but you need to do more than get close when you are the first pick in the draft.

7) Reggie Miller

Reggie Miller was the NBA’s leading three-point shooter until Ray Allen passed him during the 2011-12 season. But during the 1990s, you couldn’t find a better three-point specialist, which wasn’t all Miller did. While he mainly focused on his jumper, Miller was an above-average defender who knew how to get into his opponent’s head, evidenced by his intense matchups with the New York Knicks and their biggest supporter, Spike Lee.

6) Shaquille O’Neal

O’Neal was dominant from day one in the NBA, winning the 1993 Rookie of the Year award to winning the 1995 scoring title two years later. He helped guide the Magic to the Finals in 1995. His championships came in the next decade, but he was also a dominant player in the 90s.

5) Karl Malone

With Malone in the 90s, the Jazz never missed the playoffs, and they even made it to back-to-back NBA Finals in 1997 and 1998. While they lost those battles with the Chicago Bulls, Malone was dominant during the decade. Check out the top sports betting sites for betting on the NBA!

4) Charles Barkley

When you look at Barkley’s production, he’s one of a few elite players in the 90s who dominated at a double-double and 50 per cent shooting average level. He was a cerebral player who helped lead the Suns to the NBA Finals in 1993.

2) Hakeem Olajuwon

Olajuwon is one of the greatest centers ever to play the game. Not only was he dominant in the post, but he was also able to spread the floor with his deadly stroke from anywhere within 15 feet of the basket. His up-and-under and his “dream shake” were fatal, and they helped him lead the Rockets to back-to-back NBA titles against the Knicks, with Patrick Ewing, and the Magic with Shaquille O’Neal.
