10) Connie Hawkins

Hawkins is remembered as more of an ABA legend but he was a definite force the 4 years he played in Phoenix. In those 4 years, Hawkins averaged 20.7 points, 9.1 rebounds and 4.3 assists, making the All-Star team every single year.

9) Alvan Adams

Adams in his first eight seasons went for 16.2 PPG, 8.1 RPG, 4.5 APG, 1.4 SPG, and 1.0 BPG on 49.7 percent shooting. Adams was a dependable force who was a threat on both ends of the floor.

8) Tom Chambers

Chambers performed at a high level for the Suns and his best performance would have been in the 1989 playoffs as he averaged 26.0 points, 10.9 rebounds 1.1 steals, and 1.3 blocks, carrying the Suns to the conference finals.

7) Amar’e Stoudemire

In eight years with Phoenix (twice the time Barkley spent), Stoudemire averaged 21.4 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks on 54.4 percent shooting. If not for injuries he could have been an even better player than Barkley!

6) Paul Westphal

Westphal averaged 22.5 PPG and 5.6 APG per game, his 51.8 FG percentage, and 83.3 FT percentage are extraordinary and his 1.8 SPG aren’t bad either, nor are his four All-Star and four All-NBA appearances. Westphal could do it all.

5) Shawn Marion

Marion averaged 19.3 points, 10.4 rebounds, 2.0 steals, and 1.4 blocks while shooting 47.9 percent from the field and 82.9 from the line. Marion was a dominant player on both ends of the court for the Suns.

4) Walter Davis

Davis, Rookie of the Year campaign in 1977-78, when he averaged a career-high 24.2 points and 6.0 rebounds, was maybe the greatest rookie season any Suns player ever had. He was never as good as that rookie campaign, but make no mistake he was still a great player. Davis’s career average of 20.5 points, 4.4 assists and 1.4 steals while shooting 52.0 percent from the field and 84.1 from the line during his 10 years with the Suns. Davis also represented the Suns in 6 all-star games.

3) Kevin Johnson

Johnson was extremely productive for Phoenix. During his first 10 seasons with the Suns, the PG averaged 19.8 points, 10.0 assists and 1.6 steals on 49.7 percent FG shooting and 83.9 percent FT shooting. Injuries held back how good Johnson could have been, but either way, he is an all-time great for the Suns.

2) Steve Nash

Nash averaged 10.9 assists during his eight years in Phoenix, averaging over 11.0 and leading the league five times each. He also shot an unparalleled 51.0 percent from the field, 43.7 percent from deep, and 91.2 percent from the line. Only five other players have ever had a 50-40-90 season, and Nash averaged that over eight years in Phoenix. Nash has a strong case for the number one spot, but Barkley’s NBA MVP and leading the Suns to the finals gives him the edge.
