NBA News

Irving also gave the Nets a list with which teams he would like to play: Heat, Clippers and Lakers, as well as Knicks, Mavericks, and Heat. The guard would have to agree to a trade in order for the rights to be transferred. Irving averaged 27.4 point, 4.4 rebound and 5.8 assists per game in 29 games during the 2021-22 regular-season.

Imagine Irving and LeBron James reunited in Los Angeles. It would be awkward to trad Iving to the Lakers. Irving wanted to leave Cleveland in 2017, as he didn’t want to be in LeBron’s shadow. Some players would be uncomfortable if Russell Westbrook were traded to the Nets in exchange for Irving. A trio of James, Irving, and Davis would be a must-see television show.

Clippers and Mavericks Are Interesting Candidates

The guard is expected to appear in more than 29 games next season, unless Irving is seriously injured or another pandemic strikes. His scoring and ball handling skills could be used by the Clippers, Heat, Mavericks and 76ers. Irving would be a great addition to Jalen Brunson and Luka Doncic. Paul George and Kawhi Leonard also need another playmaker in Los Angeles.

In the Nets’ 132-121 victory over the Hornets in Mar. Irving scored 50 points, a season high. Irving was the second NBA guard to score 50 points in one game and shoot 75% from the field. Michael Jordan was the other guard. On Mar. 15 Irving scored 60 points, a record for Irving, in the Nets’ win of 150-108 against the Magic.
