Kevin Durant’s Next Team Odds for The 2022-23 NBA Season

Durant, a 15-year veteran, shot 51.8% from the floor and 38.3% from the three-point range. Durant also averaged 29.9 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 6.4 assists per game in the 2021-22 regular season. Durant turns 34 on September 31st. Would one of the top three teams below make a move to sign him this offseason? Andy Elisburg, Heat general manager, could make a move within the next few weeks. Below are the odds of Kevin Durant joining the next team.

Heat (+250)

First, the Heat finished last season at 53-29 (.646). The expectations for the 2022 NBA Playoffs were high as they were the highest-seeded Eastern Conference team. In the first round, the Heat beat the Hawks in five games. They defeated the 76ers in six games in the second round. Miami lost in seven games to the Celtics. Many people believe they only lost to the Celtics because of their injury issues. Check out the best new sportsbooks for betting on the NBA.

The team selected Nikola Jokic as No. 1 in the 2022 NBA Draft. 27. After being caught infiltrating Kyle Lowry’s 2021 draft pick, their second-round draft pick was forfeited. Do the Heat need Kevin Durant, then? It’s not really, but he would be an excellent luxury addition. Durant could give the Heat that extra push they need in order to reach the NBA Finals.

Grizzlies (+400).

The team could also be able to challenge the Warriors if Durant were traded to the Grizzlies. They lost to Golden State in round two of the playoffs despite finishing second in the Western Conference at 56-26 (.683). Memphis might have been able to extend the series to seven if it weren’t for Ja Morant’s injury in Game 3.

Nevertheless, the Grizzlies traded up during the 2022 NBA Draft to pick Jake LaRavia at Number. 22 and selected Vince Williams Jr. as No. 47. De’Anthony Melton was also traded to the 76ers. Durant would have a more challenging road to the NBA Finals in the West, but Memphis can compete with Golden State. This is something the Slim Reaper will be considering this offseason.

Hawks (+450)

The Hawks complete the top 3. The Hawks are the most logical of the three teams. For years, they have disappointed their fans. They reached the Eastern Conference Finals in the 2020-21 season. This was the farthest Atlanta had been in the playoffs since 2014-15.

Durant would be better off asking for a trade with the Heat or Grizzlies if he wants to win another ring. The Hawks selected AJ Griffin as No. 16. At Duke, he was a small forward.

The Nets G.M. is the real deal. Sean Marks wouldn’t trade his star player to an East competitor, so that the Hawks may be a good option for the Nets. Landry Fields might be able to make a play for this two-time champion.
