Indiana vs Rutgers Preview
Many folks think this is a matchup after watching the Hoosiers dominate the Tar Heels a few days ago. Any true Hoosier fan has to have some trepidation coming into this matchup. The Hoosiers have played just one road game this season, when they beat the Xavier Musketeers in a close one. Indiana has not won at Rutgers since 2018, and Piscataway has been a house of horrors for the Hoosiers. The other issue is the Hoosiers have to be flying high after the win over North Carolina. How will the Hoosiers respond to success?
This is a bigger game than the games against the Tar Heels, and the Hoosiers must be ready to absorb the Scarlet Knight’s best shot. Look for Rutgers to try to force Indiana to beat them with the perimeter shooting. If Indiana knocks down some three-point shots, if they do, they should pick up the win. This game will become a dogfight if they have shooting woes on the road.
The only injury issue for either team seems to be Indiana Guard Trey Galloway, who probably looks ready to go, but they will be careful with him.
The Indiana Hoosiers are currently ranked 8(USA Today) and start Big Ten Conference action at Rutgers, where the Hoosiers have not won since 2018..
The Hoosiers (7-0) beat North Carolina 77-65 on Wednesday behind Trayce Jackson-Davis, Xavier Johnson, Jalen Hood-Schifino and Trey Galloway. Jackson-Davis averages 19.2 points and 8.3 rebounds. Johnson adds 12.3 points and 4.7 assists.
The Hoosiers did not shoot the ball well from deep against the Tar Heels, but the Heels overextended big-time to stop the three-point shooting of the Hoosiers. Any team that plays Indiana like this will have major issues as the Hoosiers are loaded down deep.

Rutgers Scarlet Knights Betting Tips
Rutgers (5-2) so far this season is coming off a loss to Miami in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Clifford Omoruyi leads the Scarlet Knights (16.7 points, 9.9 rebounds, 1.9 blocked shots), followed by Cam Spencer (15.3 points, 43.2% 3-point shooting, 3.8 assists, 3.5 steals). They have been missing injured point guard Paul Mulcahy (shoulder). His status for the IU game is uncertain. If he doesn’t play this will be way to high of a mountain to climb for the Scarlet Knights.
Rutgers has won 5 in a row in the series, including last season’s 66-63 victory in Bloomington on Ron Harper Jr.’s 3-pointer in the closing seconds as both teams pursued NCAA Tournament berths. Among players still on their respective rosters, Omoruyi had 13 points, and 12 rebounds, and Jackson-Davis, Johnson and Race Thompson combined for 44 points.
Rutgers should be a solid test for the Hoosiers, especially since it’s just their second road test of the season.
