The Indiana Hoosiers enter this game with a record of 8-2. Arizona and Rutgers defeated them in their two losses. Their season’s best win was against North Carolina. Since their win against North Carolina, the offense has been in terrible shape. They have lost Jalen Hood Schifino, and Xavier Johnson has been inconsistent at the point.
The Hoosiers enter this game as the 14th-ranked team in the country. Indiana’s offense had been very strong until after the North Carolina win. Although Trayce Jackson was the offense, it moved around the perimeter mainly through Hood-Schifino’s ball movement. The Hoosiers were a very strong offense when they were fully healthy. Without Schifino, the Hoosiers have to rely on Johnson, who is not really a true point guard, now I have questions about Schifino, but combining the two gives me more confidence than just Johnson on his own.
This offense looks a lot like last year, where Jackson Davis is the only player who can make it happen. The offense will not move if Jackson Davis isn’t playing well. That is why they have struggled against Arizona and Rutgers. The defense must defend the perimeter better than it did against Arizona where they were slow to switch and did not close out on the shooters very well. The Hoosiers still have many questions to answer, and this game will go along way to show us if the Hoosiers are genuinely back or not.
Kansas enters this game with a record of 9-1. They lost against Tennessee in the Battle 4 Atlantis, their only loss of the season. They beat Duke to claim their best win of the season. This Jayhawk team also won against a strong Wisconsin team.
Two men lead the offense. Jalen Wilson is the leading man. Wilson averages 22 points per game while shooting 42 per cent. He averages nine rebounds per match. Grady Dick is the second man and a great compliment to Wilson. Dick averages 15 points per game and shoots 48 per cent from the floor.
The Jayhawks offense averages 79 points per match. Kansas’s offense is flying high this season, and it has been held in check only by Tennessee (which has one the best defenses in the country) and Wisconsin (which has one the better defenses of the country also.

If Schifino can play, the Hoosiers may win this one. However, if Schifino isn’t, the Hoosiers could be in trouble. Expect Dick and Wilson will have solid games. Indiana’s offense won’t be able to replicate Kansas’s success. Indiana, to have a chance, may have to slow this game down some to have a chance to win the game. The game is played at Allen Fieldhouse, which gives Kansas a considerable advantage. The Hoosiers saving grace may be Trace Jackson Davis, who the Jayhawks will have to be able to match up with.
I say Schifino plays and the Hoosiers shoot the ball better than normal from three; I think the Hoosiers make a statement winning a close one.
If you are betting the Hoosiers to cover, the payoff will be decent, and I think Indiana will cover. For example, a few days before the game, the odds range to -110 if you are betting on IU to cover. If you bet 100 on IU to cover, the payoff will be at -110; the payout would be 100 dollars, which means you would get back the 100 you bet and the other 91 for winning the bet.
