We will examine Banchero’s NBA Draft odds and how he fits in with the Rockets’ plans to select him third in the 2022 NBA Draft.

The Rockets moved earlier in the month, trading Christian Wood, the starting power forward, to the Dallas Mavericks.

Wood could have walked on the court alongside Jabari Smith Jr. and Chet Holmgren, but his compatibility with Banchero would be questionable.

Banchero would likely be the No. 1 overall pick in a typical year. Houston has the privilege of landing Banchero at number three; at least, it is more likely that they will.

Banchero is a top-three pick and the most NBA-ready. He showed improvement during his first season at Duke. He led the Blue Devils to an appearance in the Final Four and showed rare playmaking ability as a power forward.
