Few programs in college basketball embody passion, pride, and excellence quite like the Duke Blue Devils. Since their inaugural 1905–06 season, Duke has been synonymous with success — setting the standard in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and across the nation.
With an astounding all-time record of 2,305–928 (.713), the Blue Devils’ tradition runs deep. Under head coach Jon Scheyer and athletic director Nina King, the next generation continues to build on the rich legacy at the legendary Cameron Indoor Stadium, where the Cameron Crazies make every game unforgettable.
Duke’s record of achievement speaks for itself:
5 National Championships (tied for fifth all-time)
11 Championship Game appearances (third all-time)
18 Final Four appearances (third all-time)
NCAA-best .755 Tournament winning percentage
11 National Players of the Year

The Blue Devils have also claimed 23 ACC Tournament titles, 21 ACC regular-season championships, and five Southern Conference crowns before joining the ACC. Their dominance includes eight seasons finishing No. 1 in the AP Poll, 145 total weeks as the top-ranked team, and a remarkable 200 consecutive weeks in the AP Top 25 (1996–2007).
Beyond trophies and banners, Duke represents excellence on and off the court — boasting 36 All-Americans (60 total selections) and 14 Academic All-Americans.
No one understands the Duke standard better than Jon Scheyer. As a player, he was the model of consistency and leadership — the only Blue Devil ever to record 2,000 points, 500 rebounds, 400 assists, 250 three-pointers, and 200 steals.
Scheyer averaged 14.4 points per game, scored in double figures 114 times, and guided Duke to a 115–29 (.799) record during his career. As a senior captain, he led Duke to the 2010 national championship, averaging 18.2 points, 4.9 assists, and 1.6 steals per game.
His name is etched throughout the record books — top five in multiple categories including free throws (608 made), three-pointers (297), and total minutes (4,459). His relentless work ethic has seamlessly carried over to his coaching career.
As head coach, Scheyer has redefined Duke’s recruiting dominance. He’s signed the No. 1 recruiting classes in both 2024 and 2025, featuring stars like Cooper Flagg and Cameron Boozer, following top-three finishes in every class since joining the staff. His reputation as a connector, recruiter, and mentor ensures Duke remains a national powerhouse.
