The Wildcats had a horrible week, and they topped it off by being blown out by Minnesota.
12) Minnesota Golden Gophers
The Gophers handled the Northwestern Wildcats to get back above .500 at 13-12. They need to find a couple more victories to get into the NIT, which would not be bad for a team that little was expected of at the beginning of the year.
11) Maryland Terrapins
The season has been a mess for the Terps, but they have fought hard all season long and will still pull another upset or two before the season finishes up. The Terrapins are a dangerous team.
10) Penn State Nittany Lions
Penn State is playing spoiler, and they are doing it very well as they won both games this past week, and one of those wins was an upset victory over Michigan State.
9) Michigan Wolverines
The Wolverines embarrassed themselves in yesterday’s loss to the Wisconsin Badgers. Now, all we can do is wait to see what the fallout that’s sure to come will be for the Wolverines.
8) Indiana Hoosiers
The Hoosiers have now played themselves onto the NCAA bubble. The losing streak is inconsistent guard play, and no true leaders have stepped up.
7) Michigan State Spartans
The Spartans have fallen from being number one in these power rankings down to number seven in the last month. They aren’t in danger of missing the tournament yet, but a couple more losses and things could start looking cloudy for the Spartans.
6) Rutgers Scarlet Knights
Rutgers is the most improved team in the big ten over the last two months, and a loss at Purdue is not a killer. If this team stay consistent the rest of the season, they will be in the Big Dance come March.
5) Iowa Hawkeyes
The Hawkeyes have a high-powered offense, making them a tough out for anybody. The Hawkeyes got a massive win at Ohio State on Sunday and look like they will be in the NCAA Tournament.
4) Ohio State Buckeyes
On Sunday, the Buckeyes took it on the chin from the Hawkeyes and face a tough matchup against Indiana tonight. The Buckeyes are inconsistent, especially on the road.
3) Illinois Fighting Illini
The Illini got a nice win over Michigan State over the weekend as most of the other teams on this list. The Illini are inconsistent, and if they can find some consistency, they could make a run in the NCAA Tournament.
