14) Nebraska Cornhuskers

Some things don’t change and at this point, you have to wonder if they ever will? Nebraska played Michigan State tough but they are still winless in the Big Ten. I predict they won’t stay winless forever but they will remain in the basement of these rankings the rest of the year.

13) Maryland Terrapins

The Terrapins lost three games over the last week and are still winless in the Big Ten. This teams season has been nothing but an outright mess up until right now and I am losing hope they will get things figured out.

12) Northwestern Wildcats

We wondered if the reason the Wildcats got off to a great start was because of a week schedule? That has now been confirmed as the Wildcats are struggling to win games once the Big Ten portion of the schedule has started.

11) Michigan Wolverines

I never expected to rank the Wolverines this low at the start of the season. Now, I would be shocked if they get much higher than this the rest of the season.

10) Minnesota Golden Gophers

Much like Northwestern, the early schedule left a lot of questions that have been answered quickly but big ten competition and the answers are not what Gophers fans were wanting to hear.

9) Rutgers Scarlet Knights

I expected the Scarlet Knights to be better than what they have been so far. It looked like they were starting to round into shape until last night when they were blown out by Penn State.

8) Penn State Nittany Lions

The Nittany Lions are an average team but they are an average team that will cause issues for almost everybody they play, as they proved with a convincing victory last night over Rutgers.

7) Iowa Hawkeyes

The Hawkeyes are up and down but at the end of the season bubble talk will be going on about this team.

6) Ohio State Buckeyes

The Buckeyes have struggled away from home and a 16 point loss at Indiana didn’t help matters any. The Buckeyes are talented but they need to be a better team on the road to compete for a Big Ten Title.

5) Purdue Boilermakers

Let’s face it the Boilermakers could very easily be 1-3, or 0-4 in Big Ten play this season. Purdue is exceptionally talented but as of right now they are not performing up to their capabilities.

4) Indiana Hoosiers

Coach Woodson has the Hoosiers rolling with two big-time wins over Minnesota and Ohio State. The Hoosiers have a shot to win a big ten championship.

3) Michigan State Spartans

The game against Michigan was cancelled because of COVID so the only Spartans win of the week was a struggle against Nebraska.

2) Wisconsin Badgers

The Badgers took down the Boilermakers on their home floor for a huge win that puts the Badgers firmly in championship discussions in the big ten.

1) Illinois Fighting Illini

The Illini are starting to live up to the hype and are undefeated so far in the big ten.
