13) Northwestern Wildcats

The Wildcats have lost eight of their last nine games. The only saving grace is that they gave Illinois all they could handle, but in the end, they still lost.

12) Penn State Nittany Lions

The Nittany Lions are in a complete free-fall! The Nittany Lions have lost three straight games, and their performance in Indiana was horrendous. They bounced back on Monday night with a great win over Iowa and hopefully they are starting to turn things back around.

The Terrapins beat Rutgers on the road but followed that with a listless loss at home to the Indiana Hoosiers. The Terps are a dangerous team for anybody they face.

9) Michigan Wolverines

The Wolverines are an incredibly talented team, and as of late, they have shown signs that they are about to break out, but inconsistency is killing them. Saturday’s loss at Michigan State hurts but this team is teetering between being an NCAA tourney team and playing in the NIT.

8) Iowa Hawkeyes

The Hawkeyes were dominated by the Purdue Boilermakers in their only game last week. The Hawkeyes need to get back on a winning track this week, and it won’t be easy with games against Ohio State and Minnesota on the slate. The Monday night loss to Penn State is unacceptable and they need to get at least one win out of the two games they have left this week.

7) Rutgers Scarlet Knights

Inconsistency has defined the Knights season, and it’s starting to look like it might not change anytime soon. Another bad loss or two, and the Knights will be NIT bound.

6) Ohio State Buckeyes

The Buckeyes made a massive comeback from twenty points down but lost on a buzzer-beater. The Buckeyes are an excellent team but have struggled on the road.

5) Indiana Hoosiers

The Hoosiers backcourt has played much better as of late behind suddenly consistent play from point guard Xavier Johnson. The Hoosiers get a considerable opportunity Saturday at home against Illinois, a win and the Hoosiers could be in a perfect spot to finally get back to the NCAA tournament.

4) Michigan State Spartans

The Spartans lost a close one at Illinois but rebounded to win a solid home against the Michigan Wolverines. Maryland and Rutgers lie ahead this week for the Spartans.

3) Illinois Fighting Illini

Illinois had a terrific week as they won a close one over Michigan State at home and beat Northwestern on Saturday in a hard-nosed, physical game. A big ten title is possible, and they have a huge week ahead with games against Wisconsin and Indiana.
