For the Warriors, strength in numbers
Steph Curry was not his usual self after the most remarkable performance of his career in Game 4. It doesn’t get much better than waltzing into the TD Garden and dropping 43 points against a historically strong defense. This left thousands of Celtics fans stunned.
Curry’s worst performance in a playoff game was a disappointment, but Curry’s teammates stepped up to the occasion. He scored just 16 points and was 0-of-9 on 3-pointers. The baby-faced assassin fell to Earth in Game 5.
Klay Thompson made big shots, Draymond Green was the Swiss Army knife, Andrew Wiggins played like a beast, and Jordan Poole scored one of the most bizarre 3-point shots you will ever see on the finals stage out of his ass to help the Warriors get one step closer to winning it all.
Celtics issues
The Celtics must stop turning the ball over. The Celtics are doing themselves no favors when they’re clumsy with their ball and give the Warriors extra possessions. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown also need to lead the Celtics on Thursday. Tatum may have led the Celtics with points, but he shot 2-of-6 from free-throw and turned the ball over four more times.
Brown was not to be outdone. He turned the ball over five more times and shot a pitiful 27% from the floor. This is not going to be enough against an elite defensive side.
Al Horford and others were better at peeling off screens to defend Curry. This effort must continue into Game 6. If Curry gets the most attention, Wiggins (or someone else) beats the Celtics. That’s a risk they should be willing to take. Check out the

Although this series seemed destined for seven, the performance and body language of the Celtics in Game 5 were concerning. It was clear that they were a deflated team.
For coach Ime Udoka who was given a technical foul Monday, frustrations are boiling over.
Steph Curry won’t go 0-for-9 on Thursday night from the 3-point line. With the NBA championship in sight, the Warriors will be playing with some optimism, knowing they are just one game away.
Prediction
Tatum and Brown must both have great games and be unselfish for the Celtics to have a chance to win. Can they do that? They could, but the last two games have shown us that Tatum and Brown need to get away from their me-first mentality to force a game 7. Take the Warriors and the +3.5, I think the Celtics could win this game, but I am taking the Warriors and the points.
