Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly, is there a better comedic duo? This movie is funny from start to finish; it’s rude and crude but funny as hell.
Burt Reynolds is cast as a former NFL QB who gets jailed for drunk driving. Eddie Albert is the football-loving warden who gets him to form and coach a team of convicts to play his guards in an exhibition game. The game is hilarious and full of surprises if you have never seen it, and it blows away the remake made a few years ago.
First-time director Ron Shelton effortlessly balances the (literally) inside baseball satire and the funny sex comedy and gets outstanding performances out of his flawless cast.
This Bowling movie had a crude sense of gross-out humor that would be off-putting if it weren’t so consistently, embarrassingly funny. You have Woody Harrelson as the Bowling prodigy who loses his hand; Randy Quaid becomes his Amish prodigy and Bill Murray as the villain bowler.
This is a movie that would never be allowed today as you have Morris Buttermaker, the foul-mouthed, hard-drinking, washed-up former baseball player who coaches a Little League team, made up entirely of the freaks and oddballs that no one else wants.
This movie probably wouldn’t be allowed to be made these days, but these days suck anyways. Paul Newman stars as a player-coach of the Johnstown Chiefs, a down on their luck team about to relocate to Florida. The movie goes over the top with the arrival of the Hanson brothers, who bring a little fresh energy to the Chiefs.
Chevy Chase and Bill Murray create slapstick comedy gold in this early 80s movie about Golf. You will never look at a Gopher the same way after this movie. Plus, you get Rodney Dangerfield at his best.
“If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball”! Sure the humor is simple and crude, but it’s hilarious. Watching this movie made me want to go back to Junio High P.E. class and play dodgeball again!
The casting of this movie was outstanding! The gags are hilarious, Bob Uecker knocks it out of the park as the Indians radio announcer, and sure, the move follows an old formula, but it works.
This has to be the funniest from start to finish, plus you get Bob Barker and Carl weathers! It’s preposterous, unbelievable and wacky, and oh so memorable. Plus, what golfer out there has not tried to hit a tee-shot as Happy did?
