Plenty of potential on the board today, especially in HR props and favorable matchups. Lean into high‐upside hitters and pitchers who can rack up Ks or limit damage. Here are four of the ones I like.
Why I like it:
De La Cruz has been upping his power metrics recently; he’s shown good pull power and has taken advantage of mistakes in past matchups.
He’s facing a pitcher today who has been struggling with giving up hard contact and long balls, especially to aggressive right-handed hitters.
The park conditions might help — if wind/temperatures are favorable, that home run power has extra carry. (Always worth checking.)
Why I like it:
Oneil Cruz has already hit ~19 HR this season and has occasionally surprised with raw power.
His price is relatively reasonable (not overly inflated), meaning decent value if you believe he can connect against a favorable matchup.
He tends to take advantage when pitchers fall behind in the count or leave something over the middle.
Why I like it:
Judge has been consistently one of the top HR threats in the league. His profile (hard‐hit, fly ball tendency) gives him every chance in matchups where mistakes happen.
The odds today are offering decent payout for his HR, which suggests some market undervaluing maybe due to recency bias or matchup uncertainty.
If he gets good pitches to drive, Judge can take advantage — especially in a good park.
Why I like it:
Kingpin’s analysis has Reds ML as a best bet for today using home‐field advantage and reliable starter performance.
If they can get going early, they may cover a −1.5 run line depending on how thin the opponent’s bullpen is.
Given the slate’s lighter load, sometimes team props like this have lower variance than pushing HR props everywhere.
Watch the weather: wind blowing out, humidity, etc., it all affects HR carry.
Lineup confirmation: a late scratch (especially of power hitters) kills value.
Shop the best price: sometimes the value is in finding slightly better juice for the same prop.
Don’t overdo HR props: good upside but high variance. Balancing with safer plays (team lines, strikeout overs, etc.) helps.
