The top 10 Texas Rangers of all time was only difficult because of the steroids accusations that fly around so many of these players.

10) Kenny Rogers

Had more than 200 innings as a starter five times. Produced first perfect game by a left-hander in AL history against California on July 28, 1994. Club all-time leader in appearances by a pitcher with 528.

9) Rafael Palmeiro

In 10 seasons (1989-93, 1999-2003), the club hit .290 with 321 home runs and 1,039 RBIs. Unfortunately, steroids also taint his time in Texas.

8) Alex Rodriguez

Rodriguez Led the American League in homers all three seasons, with 151 total, and also had league-high 142 RBIs in 2002. Won AL MVP in 2003 and finished second and sixth in other seasons. However, steroids taint his career, and his tenure in Texas was short.

7) Ferguson Jenkins

Jenkins pitched in six seasons with the Rangers (1974-75, 1978-81) and two different stretches. In 1974, he led American League in wins with 25 and complete games with 29 to go with six shutouts and 328 1/3 innings. Finished second in the AL Cy Young race to Oakland’s Catfish Hunter, who had 25 wins, 23 complete games, and 318 1/3 innings.

6) Buddy Bell

During much of Bell’s time with the Rangers, he was the shining light and reason to watch the team. Bell made four All-Star Game appearances and won six Gold Gloves at third base during eight seasons (1979-85, ’89).

5) Michael Young

Young was a seven-time All-Star at three infield positions with Rangers. Won American League batting title in 2005 at .331 and Gold Glove at shortstop in 2008. Club all-time leader in hits with 2,320 and games with 1,823.

4) Juan Gonzalez

Won American League Most Valuable Player award in 1996 and ’98. In 1996, pushed the club to its first postseason appearance with 47 homers and 144 RBIs. In 13 seasons with Rangers (1989-99, 2002-03) hit 372 home runs and drove in 1,180 runs to rank as the franchise’s all-time leader in each category.

3) Adrian Beltre

With the Rangers, Beltre has made three All-Star appearances, won three Gold Gloves and two Silver Sluggers, and finished among the top seven in the MVP voting four times. Beltre hit 477 home runs in his career and drove in more than 1700 runs.

2) Nolan Ryan

Ryan brought interest back to the Rangers franchise, which is why a new stadium was built for the team. In five seasons (1989-93), he had two no-hitters and passed career milestones such as 300 wins and 5,000 strikeouts.

Rodriguez is the greatest player in Rangers history and one of the greatest catchers. ย In 13 seasons (1991-2002, 2009) with the club, he made 10 All-Star appearances to go with 10 Gold Gloves for defensive work and six Silver Sluggers as the league’s top offensive catcher.
