The 2022 Mets’ Big Energy faced off against the Annoyance Energy from the Miami Marlins. It’s annoying because they love to throw monkey wrenches at the New York Mets season. Yesterday was their first opportunity to begin the process of dismantling what the Mets have created. Tonight’s opponent was Pablo Lopez, who had some impressive performances against the Mets. Because the Marlins’ Annoying Energy cannot match the Mets’ Having Your Mother In The Stands for the First Time As A Met Energy, which gave the Mets a 3-0 lead from the start, Lindor may be warming up from the setback with his broken finger. But it’s also more fantastic to use Mom Power and Lindor to be everywhere on defence tonight. The broadcast team noticed that Lindor was not as “chatty” and was more in a zone. The 6th inning was quite bizarre. Luis Guillorme walked with runners on first and second. Alan Porter was tempted to say, “Okay, it’s triple play immediately!” But Porter didn’t let this cloud his judgment and confidently signaled, “Three outs!” The ball hit the wall 17 times, and it wasn’t a triple play, no matter how many highlight shows tried to make it seem so. It took replays for almost an hour to realize that the ball had hit the wall.
How do you close an inning that almost ended in a triple-play? You score seven runs! J.D. Davis’ single made it 4-1. After Brandon Nimmo and Tomas Nido had made the first two outs of the inning, Tommy Nance walked Starling Martes and hit Lindor with an a-ball to score two runs. Then Pete Alonso swooped on Nance with a pitch grand slam, making it 10ps. Luis Guillorme attempted to kill Alonso with a bag full of mini-knives in Pete’s e Ron, Keith, and Gary will be sent to Topps. Yes.
They were sunflower seeds. They are sharp and have salt in them. Although I am aware that the Mets have avoided being hit by 17,000 pitches (four on Friday), it doesn’t mean we can throw salty seed shards directly into people’s eyes. Although I recognize that this team is unique and this season is also different, I think it’s essential to have the Mets wear something like “Home Run Goggles”. I prefer the Homer Horse. Chester? Although the Marlins attempted to make a comeback by taking advantage of bullpen errors in the 7th and 8th innings, a 10-1 lead was sufficient to allow them to cruise to a 10-4 win. Carlos Carrasco supported my theory that Max Scherzer’s return to the dugout for his starting lineup fireside chats is helping to get the rotation back on track. With 6 and 1/3 innings, the pitchers gave up eight hits and two walks, respectively. Two of those runs were inherited from the bullpen and allowed a score. The Mets offense’s unloading of Pablo Lopez and Tommy Nance and the imminent Return of Eduardo Escobar made for a great Friday night in Queens.
We hope that Messrs Scherzer & deGrom will be able to return before the All-Star break. Is there a new focus on Billy Eppler so he can find another starter? Trevor Cahill is that guy? Is Tommy Hunter that guy? It will still be a bullpen item or two that will be the main focus. The next few weeks will decide all.
