NL Wildcard Game 3 New York Mets vs Milwaukee Brewers: Odds, Tips and Predictions 10-03-24

The New York Mets were the hottest team in baseball over the second half of the season and putting a stake through the heart of the Mets will be difficult. The Brewers have been great all season long, though, and are looking for their first World Championship.

New York Mets vs Milwaukee Brewers

• Run Line: Brewers -1.5
• Moneyline Mets +104
• Moneyline Brewers -122
• Over/Under 7.5

The Mets and Brewers both earned three wins during their last five games. New York fared better offensively by scoring 24 runs while Milwaukee amassed 23. The Mets possess an offensive edge in this contest due to Myers’ recent struggles on the mound, yielding ten runs over his last three starts. Milwaukee’s bullpen has also struggled, giving up seven runs over their previous three games and could find themselves struggling against New York in this contest. The Brewers won’t find as much success offensively against New York due to Quintana’s dominant pitching performances, giving up only two runs over his last four starts while going three of those starts without surrendering even one run. He did allow four runs in four road starts; New York’s bullpen, however, should have no trouble keeping their opposition’s offense in check.

Mets vs Brewers Over/Under Analysis

This over/under of 7.5 is not a lot of runs, but the Brewers may struggle to score. I will bet the over, figuring that the Mets will score at least five runs on their own.

Prediction

The Mets have a pitching advantage in this game, especially in the Bullpen, and I look for the Mets to jump out early and coast home to victory. Mets 6  Brewers 3.
