The St. Louis Cardinals had been considered one of the most exciting teams in Baseball. However, they have lost five of their last ten games. After beating the Pittsburgh Pirates in three out of four games, The Cardinals were swept by Tampa Bay Rays earlier this week, which is why they are so low in these rankings.
St. Louis managed to gain the National League Central top spot and is now 1.5 games ahead of the Milwaukee Brewers. The Cardinals have the sixth-best team batting average of.254 for the season. St. Louis has the 11th best team era on the mound.
9. San Francisco Giants
The San Francisco Giants have been playing great Baseball over the last few weeks but are still 4.5 games behind first-place San Diego Padres in the National League West. The Giants are 7-3 in the previous ten games, and they were able to sweep the Los Angeles Dodgers one week ago.
Their hitting has been a problem as they currently have the 18th-worst batting average of.239. They have 73 home runs, which is the only thing that has kept this team alive.
8. Tampa Bay Rays
The disappointing series against the New York Yankees had to leave the Tampa Bay Rays disappointed. While the Yankees are the most dominant team in Baseball, Tampa Bay was hoping they could get back to winning some of those games. They lost two of the three games against the New York Yankees.
The first thing you’ll notice when looking at the statistics for the Tampa Bay Rays this year is that they haven’t been able to get it done on the offensive side. At.232, the Rays are currently the 24th worst team in Baseball. This is not enough to allow them to keep up with the Yankees. They have been as good on the mound as ever. At 3.18, they are currently the fourth-best team ERA.
7. Toronto Blue Jays
The Toronto Blue Jays may have had the worst week of any contending baseball team. While they finished 6-4, two of their four games lost were to the Baltimore Orioles. They are still 9.5 games behind the first-place New York Yankees, and losing to the Orioles will not help their cause. This is unacceptable for a team with championship ambitions.
The Blue Jays are firing on all cylinders. They currently have the eighth-best ERA in Baseball, 3.69, and the sixth most home runs in the league with 79. Blue Jays have the second-best team batting average of.258.
6. Atlanta Braves
Atlanta Braves have proven that they are worthy of the World Series. The Braves now have won 14 consecutive games, and, although some people believe that it’s due to the teams they play, their achievements are nothing short of remarkable.
The Braves offence is firing on all cylinders as they have 97 home runs this year. This ranks them second in Baseball. Their batting average of.249. is also top-11. They currently have a 3.7 ERA which is the ninth-best in Baseball.
5. Houston Astros
Although the Houston Astros could legitimately be higher on this list, the teams ahead of them have been playing so well to begin the season. Although the Astros have lost five of their ten previous games, they have a 9.5-game lead in the American League West. It doesn’t seem likely anyone will be able to catch them. The Astros are similar to the other top teams and have been firing on all cylinders after a slow start.
They currently have the best team ERA of 3.03 in Baseball and the fourth-most home runs at 105.
4. Los Angeles Dodgers
Los Angeles Dodgers have had a disappointing few weeks. They were knocked out of the top spot in the National League West. They won just four of their last ten games. It’s been a disappointing stretch for a team with as much talent and as many stars as any team in Baseball. This team is still dealing with tough injuries, so we must give them some grace.
They currently have the second-best team ERA of 2.98 and the ninth-most home runs with 74.

3. San Diego Padres
Outside of the New York Yankees, there is a valid argument that they are the hottest team in the league. They have won eight of their last ten games and are currently at 41-24. They are 0.5 games ahead of the Los Angeles Dodgers s, and they have done it without Fernando Tatis Jr.

2. New York Mets
New York is home to the top two baseball teams. The New York Mets are currently at 41-23 and have a four-game advantage over the Atlanta Braves.
Despite the many injuries the Mets have suffered this year; they still look like the favorite to win the World Series. The league will be in for a shocker once Max Scherzer and Jacob deGrom are back. The Mets are currently leading the league in batting average with.263 and have the 14th best team ERA of 3.86.
1. New York Yankees
Anyone still doubting the New York Yankees is wrong. It’s time for them to be respected. They have been amazing throughout the year, and they continue to improve. The Yankees have won nine of the last ten games, including two victories in the first two games against the Tampa Bay Rays. They defeated the Chicago Cubs earlier this week and scored 28 runs while giving up only five.
The Yankees have the highest team ERA of any baseball team at 2.81. They also have 100 home runs.
