The Milwaukee Brewers are one victory away from the World Series. The Los Angeles Dodgers are one loss away from elimination.
Milwaukee won Wednesday’s Game 3 by a 6–2 score to take a commanding 3–0 lead in the National League Championship Series. Jake Bauers turned an 11-pitch at-bat into a go-ahead two-run homer in the seventh inning, helping put the Brewers within reach of a sweep.
For bettors, Game 4 presents a familiar question: does Los Angeles deserve to remain favored because of its starting pitcher and home field, or does Milwaukee offer the better value after controlling the first three games?
My lean is toward the Brewers completing the sweep, although their unsettled starting-pitching assignment makes this a selection to revisit before first pitch.

Milwaukee’s starter remained unannounced in the morning listings. Dustin May has been reported as the expected option, but that should be treated as provisional.

Milwaukee’s strongest argument is its ability to remain competitive until a scoring opportunity arrives.
The Brewers have won this series’ games in different ways. They protected a narrow lead in the opener, answered Los Angeles repeatedly in Game 2 and delivered the decisive late swings Wednesday. Their combined scoring advantage through three games is 15–7.
That consistency matters more than assuming momentum alone will decide tonight’s result.
Milwaukee’s pitching plan is the main uncertainty. If May starts, the Brewers need him to keep the game manageable without allowing Los Angeles to build an early cushion. May allowed two earned runs across three innings in his NLDS start, then contributed a scoreless relief inning in Game 2 against the Dodgers.
The offensive approach against Glasnow should emphasize patience. Extending at-bats can increase his workload and create opportunities for Milwaukee to reach the Dodgers’ bullpen.
At +138, the Brewers offer an appealing return. The concern is that an uncertain pitching assignment could give Los Angeles its best opportunity yet to establish control.
The strongest reason to back Los Angeles is Glasnow.
He finished the regular season with a 3.53 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 98 strikeouts across 74 innings. His ability to limit baserunners provides a credible foundation for the Dodgers’ position as favorites.
Glasnow also held Atlanta to one run across 4⅔ innings in his NLDS appearance. Los Angeles needs another effective outing, ideally with enough efficiency to reduce the number of difficult bullpen decisions.
The offense remains the bigger question.
The Dodgers cannot expect their season to continue simply because they are playing at home or facing elimination. They need better swings, productive contact and sustained innings.
An early lead would help, but Los Angeles also has to keep adding pressure. Milwaukee has repeatedly demonstrated that a small deficit does not force it away from its approach.
The moneyline is more appealing than the -1.5 run line if backing the Dodgers. Glasnow gives them a legitimate path to victory, but their recent offensive output makes a comfortable winning margin difficult to project.
These are betting leans. Confirm starting lineups, pitching assignments, available markets and prices before selecting a prop.
Glasnow is my preferred pitching-prop target.
An alternate five-strikeout selection offers a manageable starting point, provided the market is available at a reasonable price. His ability to miss bats supports consideration, but innings and pitch efficiency remain essential.
Long at-bats or early traffic could shorten his outing even if he is pitching effectively.
Contreras remains my preferred Milwaukee hitter to consider.
A single-hit selection keeps the requirement manageable against a difficult starter. It also leaves opportunities against Los Angeles’ relievers if Glasnow exits before Contreras’ final plate appearances.
The available price matters. Avoid treating a strong recent performance as a reason to accept an unnecessarily expensive number.
Turang offers another straightforward way to back a Milwaukee hitter without requiring the Brewers to win.
His displayed single-hit market was -156 when checked. That provides a reference point, but compare prices and confirm his starting position before committing.
I prefer the hit market to requiring another home run or multiple total bases.
Pages is a Los Angeles option worth considering after Milwaukee confirms its pitching plan.
A single-hit market avoids requiring an extra-base performance. His confirmed lineup position should also factor into the decision because additional plate appearances can make a meaningful difference.
Check the matchup and price together before making the selection.
Milwaukee must make Glasnow work. Disciplined at-bats offer a better path than chasing an immediate knockout.
Los Angeles must sustain offensive pressure. One productive inning may not be enough against a team that keeps responding.
The Brewers’ opening pitching assignment matters. Limiting early damage would allow Milwaukee to make its later changes from a competitive position.
My early pick is Brewers moneyline at +138, pending confirmation of Milwaukee’s pitching plan.
Glasnow makes Los Angeles a credible favorite, but Milwaukee’s execution throughout the series makes the underdog price attractive. This is a modest lean because the Brewers’ starting assignment remains unresolved.
For the total, I lean under 7.5 at +102. That selection depends on Milwaukee preventing an early Dodgers breakthrough and Glasnow keeping the Brewers within reach.
Final prediction: Milwaukee wins 4–3, completes the sweep and advances to the World Series.
