Last week, the San Francisco Giants made a trade with the Philadelphia Phillies. The Giants traded catcher Austin Wynns from San Diego, California, for left-handed minor league pitcher Michael Plassmeyer from St. Louis, Missouri, and cash. Wynns’ Offensive Impact
Although it was a small sample, Wynns seems to have made the most of his time with the Giants. After four games, he is currently batting.417. Wynns had five hits in 12 at-bats. Wynns started the 2022 baseball season at Triple-A. After three seasons with the Baltimore Orioles, Wynns signed with the Phillies in March 2022. However, he never played for Philadelphia. Wynns’ batting average was.365 in 33 games with the Lehigh Valley IronPigs. He had three home runs and 20 RBIs. In 104 at-bats, he had 38 hits.
The Orioles Struggles
In his three seasons, Wynns’s batting average in Baltimore was.216 and 185, respectively. The Giants’ scouting team liked Wynns’ performance in Baltimore’s highest minor league system, so they decided to demote Bart and purchase a back stopper with no offensive record-up until now.
Bart’s Struggles
Bart wasn’t very good this season for San Francisco. Before his move to Sacramento, Bart was only hitting.156 in 90 at-bats. This decreased from the.333 average in just two games in 2021.
Michael Plassmeyer
Plassmeyer will benefit from a change of scenery, the Phillies hope. The southpaw had a terrible time with Sacramento in 2022. He was 0-6 with an earned runs average of 7.38.

The Phillies started having a difficult start to the month when Jean Segura was injured and looks unable to play for three months.
