Atlanta Braves extend Austin Riley to Massive Deal

“The Atlanta Braves signed 3B Austin Riley today to a 10-year, $212 million contract that will run through 2032. There is also a $20 million club option in 2033. Riley will earn $ 15 million in 2023, $21million in 2024 and $22 million for the rest of the agreement. He will donate $2.12million to the Atlanta Braves Foundation.

Riley, 25, has hit 301 this season with 29 home runs and 68 RBI. He also has a.964 OPS. He is 6-foot-3 and 240-pound and was named to his first All-Star team. His OPS rank sixth and his home run total is fourth. He had 26 extra-base hits in July, breaking Hank Aaron’s 1961 record by one. He also reached.423 in July with 11 home runs, joining Chipper Jones and Hall-of-Famer Hank Aaron as the only Braves players with double-digit home runs.

After hitting.303 and hitting33 home runs, Riley was seventh in the NL MVP voting. He also had 107 RBI. He was also awarded his first Silver Slugger award and named to the All-MLB Second Team. He hit two home runs and a walk-off double in the postseason vs. Los Angeles (NL). He also hit.320 (8-for-25 in the World Series) with three RBI to help the Braves win their fourth World Series title.”
