On Wednesday night, the Atlanta Braves (43-33, 19-20 away) and St. Louis Cardinals (40-37; 21-15 home) will return to Busch Stadium, starting at 7:15 p.m. EDT. Both teams are currently performing admirably and in NL wild-card contention; Monday’s series-opening victory for St. Louis gave them an edge against Atlanta; can it repeat itself again tonight?

Braves vs Cardinals
Run Line: Braves -1.5
Moneyline Braves -136
Moneyline Cardinals +110
Over/Under 8.5
These odds were updated at 6 am EST on 06/24/24, coming from Draft Kings.
Our Best Pick: Bet Braves -1.5
This starting pitcher matchup isn’t close to competitive. Chris Sale leads the NL in FIP this season. He’s facing a team with a .608 OPS against left-handed pitchers in 2024. Sale should dominate a Cardinals team that has struggled with scoring for most of the season.
With his 5.23 ERA this season, Andre Pallante has started two games against teams putting up at least 4.30 runs per contest. The Giants tagged him for five runs while the Astros managed six. Atlanta should match those teams in terms of output on Wednesday. Expect the Braves to dominate and win by multiple runs.

Braves vs Cardinals Over/Under Analysis
The Over/Under in this game is 8.5. This is a tricky over/under, I will lean towards the under as I think Chris Sale will shut the Cardinals down.

Braves vs Cardinals Head-to-Head
The Cardinals won on Monday night 4-3 over the Braves.
Conclusion
I am taking the Braves; Chris Sale gives the Braves an overwhelming advantage on the mound, and the Cardinals will hit the ball well. Braves 6 Cardinals 2.
