Boxing oracles rank John H. Stracey among the top 25 fighters in the history of Great Britain, and they’ve called his clash with Dave “Boy” Green the third-greatest ever in the United Kingdom.

The legendary Brit joins us all the way from London on this week’s show to discuss his life and sensational career, which spanned 51 fights in 10 years, and included a victory over Hall of Famer Jose Napoles for the WBC and linear welterweight crown.

This is a highly entertaining, story-filled interview with a fighter who faced Carlos Palomino, Hedgemon Lewis, Ernie “Indian Red” Lopez, and a who’s who of European boxers in a truly great career.

Our interview with John Stracey is preceded by the weekly report from our British correspondent, Paul McLaughlin, on Saturday’s Usyk-Bellew fight card in Manchester, and a breakdown of those fights, Mayweather’s weird Japanese adventure, slow ticket sales for the Wilder-Fury fight, and more from our expert analysts Rizwaan Zahid and John J. Raspanti.

Dennis Taylor is host of The Ringside Boxing Show, editor-publisher of, and co-author (with John J. Raspanti) of “Intimate Warfare: The True Story of the Arturo Gatti and Micky Ward Boxing Trilogy,” an Amazon bestseller.
