Ray Mercer, one of the most underappreciated heavyweights of his era, fought Larry Holmes, Evander Holyfield, Wladimir Klitschko, Lennox Lewis, Tommy Morrison, Bert Cooper, and multiple other big-time head-bangers in a career that spanned two decades. He won an Olympic gold medal, knocked out two-time UFC heavyweight king Tim Sylvia in 9 seconds of an MMA bout, and ultimately found his way into four different boxing halls of fame.
We asked “Merciless” Ray Mercer to tell us some tales from a colorful career, and he pulled no punches in an exceptional, in-depth interview on this week’s show.
We also get enlightening insight on the week in boxing from expect analysts Travis Hartman, Rizwaan Zahid, and John J. Raspanti on Terence Crawford’s truncated victory over Amir Khan, Danny Garcia’s flogging of Adrian Granados, en fuego performances by Shakur Stevenson and Teofimo Stevenson, plus some serious shade for “Big Baby” Miller for blowing his chance to face Anthony Joshua with three dirty drug tests, and the Nevada Boxing Commission for considering Adalaide Byrd as a potential judge for Canelo-Jacobs.
