This week on Irish Football Weekly, the guys talk about how the season is completely over for the Irish….Just KIDDING! Josh calls out some “fans” from Irish Facebook groups that are saying that the season is over and to relieve Coach Kelly off his coaching duties. If you think back to a year ago, and how awful (that’s putting it nicely) that Irish team was playing, you would be at ease with how this season is going. So many topics to talk about such as: the Miami game and areas of that deflating loss, the upcoming Navy game, and the Senior Day experience.
The Miami loss was disheartening to say the least. Josh and Tony talk about specifics that happened or that did not happen to make the game go the way it did. That loss does knock them out of the CFP Top 4, but is this season over? Josh and Tony do NOT think so. Josh brings up the quick switch at the quarterback position and the confidence of that team leading up to and during the game. Tony discusses the athleticism of the Miami Hurricanes and how well they played against the Irish.
As we look forward, the Irish play Navy at home for Senior Day on Saturday, November 18th. The game begins at 3:30 p.m. and is shown on NBC. This will be the 91st meeting and Tony mentions how teams like Navy play Irish, year-in and year-out. They both talk about Navy’s mentality coming into a game like this and how some weapons can possibly hurt the Irish.
Both hosts, thank the seniors in many ways and Tony brings up some of his experience as Josh does as well from when he played. If any former athlete listens to these two talk about their experiences, you will understand exactly what they mean.
As usual, take some time to listen to these GREAT men talk Irish football on their show, Irish Football Weekly! You can add them on Facebook and also “like” and “share” their Irish Football Weekly Facebook page. Additionally, Josh is on Twitter and you can follow him with the handle, @coachjb4. Thanks to all of the listeners and fans!!!!
