Welcome back to our newest edition of Irish Football Weekly!
Winning a game that you should win never felt any better after this weekend’s game against Wake Forest. With the first start of Ian Book this season, he stepped up to the challenge and excelled in every aspect of his game. Josh and Tony discuss how his play and other offensive position groups came into their first away game to play at a high level for the whole game.
The defense did play well for most of the game, but did giveΒ up some points that were unnecessary. Alohi and Tranquill led the defense again with how they played and with their statistics as well. That defense will need to refocus as they will be playing a much different opponent this upcoming week.
Two highly renowned academic institutions being in the top 10 of the nation and playing each other, Stanford and Notre Dame are very unique programs. They will face off at Notre Dame Stadium under the lights at 7:30p.m. Saturday, September 29th. While that game can be watched on NBC, the Irish will need as many fans at the game to cheer them on to victory.
Josh and Tony discuss this heavyweight match-up and give their thoughts and opinions on what has to happen for an Irish win. Bryce Love, KJ Costello, and Coach David Shaw have other ideas as they lead those undefeated Cardinals into South Bend to try to beat the Irish for the fifth time out of the last six games played against each other.
In the “Three Toughest Picks” segment, Josh has finally done well…Yeah, you read that right! This week gets really interesting with their picks!!!! Josh and Tony have very different outcomes of the game in the “Irish Prediction” segment.
Take your time and listen to these guys talk Notre Dame football!
Thanks for listening!
