The Coronavirus has caused sports leagues to suspend, cancel or delay their seasons. There will be no March Madness this year as the NCAA has cancelled the Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournaments. Initially, the NCAA said all tournament games would be played without fans. On Wednesday, March 11th Rudy Gobert of the Utah Jazz tested positive for Covid-19, and the whirlwind began.
After Gobert’s positive test, the NBA did not hesitate to suspend the current season. The NHLย followed suit, and postponed their season. In addition, the NHL prohibited any team activities. This means no practice and no workouts which could suggest fans will be waiting for a while before seeing a hockey game. MLB has pushed back the start of the 2020 season. They are encouraging players to stay at their respective teams spring training headquarters.
This show is not about voicing our opinion on the cancellations but rather a show that is sharing facts and giving our thoughts on what is going on.
