Quarterback play is the death of this team.
The Vipers are improving but it is not going to be enough to save the season. You gotta admit that it’s fun having Jerry Glanville coach football again.
If the Renegades would just run the ball I think they would be in much better shape but for some reason they won’t. Landry Jones will be out at least one more week and this team is looking more and more like they are on life support.
The Wildcats overcame an 18-point deficit to nab a game they had to win. Quarterback Josh Johnson, for the last three-quarters of the game, looked amazing and if he can continue to play like this the Wildcats will be tough to beat. With the lack of defense there seems to be a cap on how far they can go though.
The Defenders looked very good the first two weeks and very bad the last two weeks. Cardale Jones struggled once again and was replaced by Tyree Jackson. I know Jackson helped them get the win, but it’s hard for me to get excited by Jackson’s 39 yards passing.
Luis Perez has solidified the quarterback position for New York. With that taken care of this team is a threat. The Guardians are solid on defense and now with the offense improving, things are looking up in New York.
St. Louis had a very bad day and it all started with and ended with an 0-3 performance in the red zone. The BattleHawks to me are still at the number two spot in this rankings but some cracks that have been showing need to be shored up quickly if they want to make a run at a championship.
No doubt about number one in these rankings at this moment. The Roughnecks scored 18 unanswered points in the second half of a game marred by a controversial ending. Walker passed for 351 yards and 3 TDs and now has 1,338 yards, 15 TDs and just 4 interceptions halfway through the season. Cam Phillips had 10 catches for 122 yards and a pair of TDs. The Roughnecks are rolling along but they did struggle against Seattle.
