1) The two best teams will be playing for the Lombardi Trophy
After Sunday’s games this cannot be questioned. The 49ers have the most complete team in the NFL and they have proved it all year by overcoming a ton of injuries that most teams could not have sustained without picking up extra losses along the way. The Chiefs have the most dynamic play-making quarterback the NFL has seen since John Elway. He is a Houdini with a football!
Vrabel upset the defending champion Patriots, he took down the number one seed Ravens, and for a while on Sunday it looked like he might have figured out a way to beat the Chiefs. The one big difference in leading the Chiefs and leading the Ravens is just one simple fact: Lamar Jackson is nowhere near the player Patrick Mahomes is. Mahomes is an accurate passer that will beat you with feet if he has to; Jackson will beat you with his feet first but if you take that away he has no answers because he is an inaccurate passer who you can get to. Make no mistake, Mahomes is special and he gives the Chiefs a chance to win any game they are in.
The 49ers are basically a smash-mouth football team with a superior offensive line, a stable of running backs and a front seven when healthy that is unequaled in the NFL right now. The Chiefs are PlayStation football. They will spread you out and throw the ball 80 percent of the time and dare you to stop it! So what you have is old-time football against New Age football. Which way is better? We will soon find out.
I figure by next year at this time the Mayfield commercials will finish up with Baker getting a well deserved eviction notice. On the bright side, if you are a Browns fan this commercial will mean that a Browns quarterback will be on TV during a Super Bowl! In my opinion, Ryan Fitzpatrick commercials would be much more entertaining, but hey! So would going to the dentist!
