This ranking is based mainly on who has played the best throughout the season. The CFL is stacked 1-7 with teams all capable of making a playoff run. A big reason for that would be the talent at the QB level in the CFL.
1) Mike Reilly, Edmonton Eskimos
Reilly has played almost flawless this season, completing 72 percent of his passes and throwing no interceptions. Can he maintain this level of play? I think there should be no doubt he can.
2) Bo Levi Mitchell, Calgary Stampeders
Mitchell and the Stampeders have gotten off to a slow start, similar to last year. But it is only a matter of time until they get back on track.
3) Trevor Harris, Ottawa Redblacks
Yes, I know what Ottawa’s record is, and I know that it is in no way Harris fault. Harris has thrown 12 TD passes and just 3 interceptions and has completed 70 percent of his passes for almost 2,000 yards. By the end of the season if Harris stays healthy the Redblacks will be a tough out in the playoffs.
4) Ricky Ray, Toronto Argonauts
Ray has led the Argonauts resurgence, and the Argos are a legit playoff contender because of him. Will age catch up to him? Who knows, but the way he is playing right now makes the Argos a surprise contender.
5) Matt Nichols, Winnipeg Blue Bombers
Nichols has played well so far this year, tossing eight TD passes and four interceptions. The question is: Can he make enough plays in big situations to make the Bombers a Grey Cup threat?
6) Darian Durant, Montreal Alouettes
Durant has played week through the first part of the season and he makes the Als a significant force in the East.
7) Kevin Glenn, Saskatchewan Roughriders
I think Glenn has played better than expected; the problem is the team around him is just not very good.
8) Travis Lulay, B.C. Lions
Lulay has only played two games since replacing injured starter Jonathon Jennings, and while he has thrown to many interceptions, overall he has played well.
9) Zach Collaros, Hamilton Tiger-Cats
This ranking is more a byproduct of the team than anything else. Collaros is still an exceptional talent; he just needs more help.
