Top 5 Outside Linebacker in the NFL Today

5) Sean Lee, Dallas Cowboys

Lee is all over the place for the Cowboys’ defense and he is a player that will get better over the next few years. The Cowboys have something special in Lee, now they just need to surround him with some help on defense.

4) Dont’a Hightower, New England Patriots

Hightower, as you would expect in Bill Belichick’s defense, is very versatile and is good against the pass and run. It’s hard to set the Patriots as a 4-3 or 3-4 scheme because they play a lot of nickel with just two linebackers. Hightower tends to be forgotten, but he is a big-time player.

3) K.J. Wright, Seattle Seahawks

Wright is the one of the most underrated players in the NFL. Last year he accounted for 126 tackles with 4 sacks. His is a violent aggressive defender with great instincts, he is the perfect outside linebacker to put in front of the legion of doom. He is also of capable of playing inside linebacker almost as well as he plays the outside.

2) Von Miller, Denver Broncos

Simply put, Miller is a game-changer and if you thought a new contract would change that, you were proven wrong last year. Miller affects the run games just as much as he does the pass game. He may not be the biggest defender, but he makes up for it with incredible speed and quickness.

1) Khalil Mack, Oakland Raiders

I think last year Mack surpassed Von Miller as the best OLB in the NFL. Mack led the NFL with 96 QB pressures and maybe the most important thing when comparing Mack and Miller is the fact that Miller has a lot more help on defense than Mack does.
