Hobbs has turned out to be one of the best slot defenders in the NFL, and he was drafted in the 5th round! He has given up zero touchdowns, and he may be the biggest steal in the 2021 NFL draft!
9) Penei Sewell, Detroit Lions
Sewell was nothing but a liability at the start of the season, but that changed quickly! Over the last two months of the season, Sewell has allowed just ten pressures, which is an unreal improvement for a 21-year-old rookie playing left tackle.
8) Jaylen Waddle, Miami Dolphins
Miami’s offense has held Waddle back, in the same situation as Chase in Cincinnati, Waddle would probably be top three easily. Waddle is a true number one wide receiver who has not had a chance to show his elite speed yet.
7) Kyle Pitts, Atlanta Falcons
Pitts was not in a good situation in Atlanta, but he certainly made the most of it. On December 22, Pitts was selected to his first Pro Bowl, becoming the first rookie tight end to make the Pro Bowl since Jeremy Shockey in 2002.
6) Mac Jones, New England Patriots
Not many expected Jones to be the Patriots starting quarterback headed into this season, but in the end, he started every game and has led the Patriots to the playoffs. The question has to be whether he will be just a game-manager, or will he be a player who can put the Patriots franchise on his back for the next decade.
Holland has quickly established himself as the best safety in this draft class, and he is headed towards being one of the top safeties in the NFL if he hasn’t already? Holland, at one point, had a five-game streak with either a pass breakup or an interception.
4) Ja’Marr Chase, Cincinnati Bengals
Chase had a lull for a month in his season, but when the chips were down for the Bengals, Chase more than stepped up and blew the top off the Ravens and Chiefs defenses. Chase is a big reason why the Bengals are headed to the playoffs for the first time since 2015.
3) Rashawn Slater, Los Angeles Chargers
His consistency on an anything but consistent team was amazing this season. He has already been selected to the pro bowl, and he will only get better. He is a dominant run blocker and is excellent in pass coverage.
2) Micah Parsons, Dallas Cowboys
Parson’s has been used as an edge rusher and an outside linebacker, and he has excelled at both. Parsons ability to get after opposing quarterbacks from any alignment has been invaluable for Dallas’ defense that was porous before the arrival of Parsons.
1) Creed Humphrey, Kansas City Chiefs
What Humphrey has accomplished this season has been truly unique! He was a late second-round pick, so everybody had a chance to pick Creed, but the Chiefs were the team smart enough to do it! Humphrey wasn’t even the first center picked in the draft, but he will end his rookie season as the best center in the NFL, and there is a good chance it will stay that way for the next decade and possibly longer than that.
