The NFL season is very much up and running in 2019, which means we’ve seen enough of all 32 teams to make an assessment on their chances of winning their division and going all the way to the Super Bowl.
Here are three divisional bets you should look to place, and they may not have been teams you had on your radar at the start of the season.
The Buffalo Bills are the real deal this season and have a great shot at the AFC East. There is obviously one small obstacle in their way, the New England Patriots, who have started 6-0. The defending Super Bowl champions have got off to a flying start, however, there have been signs over their last few games, that they are not playing as well as their record suggests.
The Bills are currently 4-1 and in their next six games, they will face the Dolphins twice, host the Redskins, and are at home to Denver – so who knows what their record will be after that stretch. At +800 in the divisional betting for the AFC East, the Bills are a fantastic value wager. If you need to learn more about how to place a divisional bet or for all the lines in the NFL, there are plenty of useful betting guides that will help; so have a read on sports news sites before you decide what and where to place your wager.
When Andrew Colt made the shocking announcement that he was retiring from the NFL with immediate effect, everybody felt that was it for the Colts as it was devastating news on the eve of the season. Jacoby Brissett has proved that he is more than a capable replacement though, and their recent victory over the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead, proves they are capable of beating any team in the NFL.
The Colts are locked into a battle with the Houston Texans in the AFC South. However, at +180, Indianapolis is predicted to finish at the top of the standings at the end of the regular season to reach the play-offs. This would be the second consecutive campaign where nobody will be keen to face them in the post-season.
The Green Bay Packers proved they are NFC Championship contenders this season when they went to Texas and beat the Dallas Cowboys at the AT&T Stadium, where Aaron Rodgers brought up his record in that stadium to 4-0. With Rodgers behind the center, who knows how far the Packers can go this year, as his talent alone puts them in with a real shot of winning the Super Bowl.
The challenge in the NFC North does not appear strong this year. You never know what you are going to get from the Minnesota Vikings; the Chicago Bears have a toothless offense, while the Detroit Lions are just the Detroit Lions. Green Bay is locked in the NFL division betting at -125 so expect to see them in playoffs where they may even have home advantage at a freezing cold Lambeau Field.
There is still a lot of football to be played in the regular season, so enjoy all the action and good luck with your division punts.
