New England Patriots(-1.5) at Jacksonville Jaguars
In a rematch of last year’s AFC Championship game in which Jags quarterback Blake Bortles racked up 293 yards, one touchdown and zero interceptions on 23-of-36 passing. The Jags will need a similar performance in this matchup if the Jags are to pull off the win at home against the Patriots. Bortles did not get off to a great start in 2018, however, completing just 18-of-33 passes for 176 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Week 1. He’ll have to improve on those numbers to give Jacksonville a chance, especially with running back Leonard Fournette banged up. I will go with the Patriots in this one because Fournette is injured.
The Saints will be an angry group entering this game and in the end, the Browns are not ready to win a road game against a team of this caliber, especially when they are coming off a loss.
The 49ers are an up and coming team and the Lions are a team with not enough talent or coaching. Take the Niners and give the points without any worry.
The Colts have no running game so this will all be on quarterback Andrew Luck. The Redskins, on the other hand, have all the look of a possible surprise team this year. Look for Jordan Reed and Alex Smith to have big games.
The Panthers have an excellent defense but on offense they have issues, and the issues have gotten much bigger with the loss of all-world tight end Greg Olson. I like the Falcons in a tough game to cover the spread.
Josh Allen will get his first start but it will not matter. Take the Chargers!
The Chiefs looked great last week and the Steelers did not. Look for that to continue here as the Steelers seem to all of the sudden have many issues and Andy Reid will take advantage of them.
Both teams surprised with opening wins, but I do not think the Dolphins are very good and while I am still unsure about the Jets, they are the home team and they do have a superior coach in Todd Bowles.
The Bucs were a big surprise last week while the World Champion Eagles just barely survived the Falcons. This week the Bucs will have a letdown and the Eagles will begin to fly!
Arizona Cardinals at Los Angeles Rams(-13)
13 is a lot of points but it’s not enough to pick against the Rams!
The Broncos are just better in every facet of the game! With that being said, take Denver and give the points.
The Giants have too many weapons and the Cowboys have Zeke Elliott. This is a huge game and I am taking the visitors.
The Bears pass rush will have a huge day against a porous Seattle offensive line, so take Da Bears!
