After the insane unpredictability of week 6 in the NFL, week 7 made things seem relatively normal again β or at least safe enough for the Grueling Truth to fearlessly make predictions for week 8.
Minnesota Vikings(-9) at Cleveland Browns(London)
The Vikings are a legit playoff contender and the Browns are a legit contender for the first pick in the draft.
Prediction: Vikings 27, Browns 10
Chicago Bears at New Orleans Saints(-9.5)
The Bears have already won as many games as most people predicted they would and the Saints have surprised people because it seems they now have a defense.
Prediction: Saints 31, Bears 13
Atlanta Falcons(-4.5) at New York Jets
All of the sudden this game is not near the mismatch that it looked like it would be at the start of the season. The Jets are playing hard and I think they could give the Falcons a lot of trouble.
Prediction: Falcons 21, Jets 17
Carolina Panthers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers(-2.5)
The Panthers are in a offensive tail-spin and the Bucs are under achieving, so something has to give here and I think it will be the Panthers.
Prediction: Buccaneers 24, Panthers 20
San Francisco 49ers at Philadelphia Eagles(-12.5)
The Eagles maybe the best team in the NFL at this point in the season and the 49ers are one of the worst.
Prediction: Eagles 38, 49ers 9
Oakland Raiders at Buffalo Bills(-2.5)
Both of these teams are surprises, just in different ways. I think this is a crucial game for the Raiders and the Bills need to win to keep pace in the East. I am going with the home team in a close one.
Prediction: Bills 27, Raiders 24
Indianapolis Colts at Cincinnati Bengals(-11)
You know exactly how bad you are when you are an 11 point underdog to the Bengals!
Prediction: Bengals 27, Colts 10
Los Angeles Chargers at New England Patriots(-7.5)
Surprisingly I think the Chargers maybe able to hang in this game long enough to make it interesting, but not long enough to win.
Prediction: Patriots 35, Chargers 24
Houston Texans at Seattle Seahawks(-5.5)
Maybe the most interesting match-up of the weekend and I look for the Texans to give the Seahawks a run for their money.
Prediction: Seahawks 23, Texans 21
Dallas Cowboys(-2) at Washington Redskins
The Cowboys looked great last week, but it was the 49ers they were playing. The Redskins will cause them a lot more problems, but I think the Cowboys win a high-scoring affair.
Prediction: Cowboys 37, Redskins 31
Pittsburgh Steelers(-2.5) at Detroit Lions
The Lions need to get a win here to stop a two game losing skid and the Steelers will look to win their third in a row. I am going with the Steelers in a close one.
Prediction: Steelers 30, Lions 27
Denver Broncos at Kansas City Chiefs(-7.5)
The Chiefs need to get back in the win column and this seems the perfect game to do that.
Prediction: Chiefs 24, Broncos 13
