The Jacksonville Jaguars dominated the Pittsburgh Steelers earlier in the year. Can it happen again? We will find out on Sunday when the Jags travel to Heinz Field to try their luck again.
Bortles has been inconsistent this year and over the last few weeks, though Bortles has made fewer errors, he has been just plain bad. If that continues on Sunday the Jaguars season will come to a painful end.
Big Ben played one of the worst games of his entire career against the Jags earlier this season, throwing 5 interceptions and looking very old. Over the second half of the season, however, Ben has played as well as any quarterback in the NFL. The Steelers can only hope that translates here.
Bell is maybe the best running back in the NFL but over his last eight games he is only averaging 3.2 yards per carry. The Jaguars held Bell to just 47 yards in their week 5 match-up. This means the Jaguars can contain Bell and if they do their chances to win go up ten-fold.
This will be the match-up of the year, as the NFL’s top receiving tandem of Antonio Brown and JuJu Smith-Schuster square off against the league’s finest corner back duo in Ramsey and Bouye. This match-up could very well decide this game, especially if Bell doesn’t have a big day.
Pittsburgh’s offensive line vs. Jacksonville’s pass rush
The Jaguars come into this game ranking second in sacks (55) and interceptions (21), third in forced fumbles (17), and first in defensive scores (7). The Steelers have an underrated offensive line, but make no mistake about it, they are going to have their hands full in this one.
Prediction: I look for the Steelers to come out and try to establish the run. If they do this the game will be over quickly.
I look for the Jaguars to at least slow down the Steelers ground game and limit the Steelers to 24 points. The problem for the Jaguars is that Blake Bortles will not be good enough to win what should be a close game.
