These two teams were evenly matched in the third game of the season and Jake Elliott gave the Eagles a three-point win on an improbable 61 yard field goal.
I think it would be safe to call that game a turning point for both teams as the Eagles won nine straight games and the Giants have been as bad as the Browns since that game. Now we have two major factors that weren’t involved in the first match up that will play a prominent role in this game this time around. Number one Giants Head Coach Ben McAdoo has been replaced (Thank God)! Maybe even more important is the Eagles have lost their starting Quarterback Carson Wentz for the season. So how does this game play out the second time around? Let’s take a look?
While Foles is not Carson Wentz, he is an experienced NFL starter and one of the best backup Quarterbacks in the NFL. Can the Eagles get to the Super Bowl with Foles? I actually think they can. The question in this game is how rusty Foles will be and I think he will be rusty early in the game but with as much experience as he has he should be able to get into the flow of the game fairly early.
If you have watched these teams before, you already know the answer to this question, and that answer is a resounding no! The Eagles have an excellent pass rush and the Giants have one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL.
Yes it can, the Giants are playing for nothing but pride while the Eagles are playing for home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. The Eagles just need to win one more game to clinch that but I think the Giants pride will make this resemble last week’s game and they will hang in for three quarters then the question will become can they finish?
Like I said I think with Foles rusty early and the Giants playing on emotion that this game will be close for three quarters then the Eagles pull away.
