2017 NFL Week 1: Predicting all the Games and Beating the Spread

NFL Week 1 Beating the Spread

New York Jets at Buffalo Bills (-8)

This looks like the worst game on paper for Week 1. It will also look like the worst game on the field. Both teams have decent defenses, but the difference will be Tyrod Taylor, LeSean McCoy and the Bills’ offensive line.

Prediction: Bills 24  Jets 10

Atlanta Falcons at Chicago Bears (+6.5)

This looks to be one of the bigger mismatches of the week as the Falcons, who are maybe the most talented team in the NFL, square off against the Bears, who have one of the least talented rosters in the NFL.

Prediction: Falcons 34  Bears 13

Jacksonville Jaguars at Houston Texans (-5)

The Jaguars have a talented roster, but they have big-time quarterback concerns. The Texans are in the same boat, but the Jags line cannot handle J.J. Watt and the boys.

Prediction: Texans 27  Jaguars 10

Philadelphia [email protected] Redskins (+1)

The Redskins suffered a lot of hits in the offseason to their skill position players and while the offense will still be good, it won’t be good enough to beat a young, hungry Eagles team.

Prediction: Eagles 24  Redskins 20

Arizona Cardinals at Detroit Lions (+2)

The difference in this game will be Matthew Stafford outplaying the aging Carson Palmer.

Prediction: Lions 31  Cardinals 23

Oakland Raiders at Tennessee Titans (-2.5)

This is a matchup of two young teams on the rise. The difference will be the Titans’ ability to run the ball against the Raiders’ questionable defense.

Prediction: Titans 31  Raiders 27

Baltimore Ravens at Cincinnati Bengals (-3)

Flacco may play, but he will be very rusty. The Ravens don’t look like they can score enough points to win this game.

Prediction: Bengals 24  Ravens 16

Pittsburgh Steelers at Cleveland Browns (-9)

The Preseason has been an exciting time for Browns fans and the Steelers should face a hostile crowd. With that being said, if the Browns start out well the Steelers will have their hands full all day long.

Prediction:Browns 20  Steelers 17 (OT)

Indianapolis Colts at L.A.Rams (+4)

No starting quarter back + no starting center = not much chance in this game for the Colts.

Prediction: Rams 20  Colts 9

Seattle Seahawks at Green Bay Packers (-3)

The Packers secondary is a huge question mark, as is the Packers ability to run the ball. Russell Wilson will have a big day and the Hawks’ defense will get enough pressure on Rodgers to win this game.

Prediction: Seahawks 34  Packers 31

Carolina Panthers at San Francisco 49ers (+5.5)

The Panthers are looking to bounce back from a poor 2016, the Niners are just looking for improvement.

Prediction: Panthers 27  49ers 10

New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys (-4)

The Giants had the Cowboys’ number last year, so this is a statement game for the Boys. Look for the Giants secondary and defensive line to be the difference in a nail-bitter.

Prediction: Giants 24  Cowboys 23

New Orleans Saints at Minnesota Vikings (-3)

The Vikings defense will slow Drew Brees down just enough to win this game.

Prediction: Vikings 27  Saints 24

Los Angeles Chargers at Denver Broncos (-3)

The Broncos’ offensive line is not that good and their quarterback situation is a mess.

Prediction: Chargers 27  Broncos 16
