32) Houston Texans
I know the Lions are winless, but the Texans are the worst team in the NFL as of right now.
31) Detriot Lions
The Lions threw everything but the kitchen sink at the Rams and still lost. The difference between the Texans and the Lions is the Lions do everything they can to win games.
30) New York Jets
Zack Wilson suffered a knee injury in the beating the Jets sustained at the hands of the New England Patriots.
29) Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins being ranked this low is not on Tua. It is on the defense, though, which has been horrible all season long and doesn’t look like it will be getting better anytime soon.
28) Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jaguars had a much-needed bye week after the win over the Miami Dolphins.
27) New York Giants
The Giants got a win against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, and I think Daniel Jones has shown some progress.
26) Washington Football Team
The defense has still not lived up to the hype; the offense has lived up to their preseason expectations, too bad those expectations were not very high.
25) Philadelphia Eagles
Jalen Hurts shows flashes of brilliance, but so far, it has just been occasional flashes.
24) San Francisco 49ers
This year, the 49ers are headed for a possible last-place finish; the offense has shown no creativity, and the defense has not been outstanding.
23) Denver Broncos
The Broncos have lost four straight since opening the season with three consecutive wins. As a result, a coaching change looks to be headed for Denver when the season ends, or maybe even sooner!
22) Carolina Panthers
The Panthers offense looks lost without Christian McCaffery. Likewise, Sam Darnold doesn’t look near as good without his star running back.
21) Chicago Bears
Nagy and Pace need to be fired ASAP! Justin Fields was not a great pick, and it’s showing up quickly in Chicago. Fields have a lot of talent, but he has technical flaws in his game that will ruin him if he’s not coached right.
20) Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks look to be headed for their first losing season since Russell Wilson arrived on the scene. It won’t be his fault as he is still injured.
19) Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons have fought their way back to .500 on the season behind an ever-improving offense. However, the defense still has issues, and I don’t think the personnel can solve those issues this season.
18) New England Patriots
Mac Jones has probably played the best out of all of this year’s rookie quarterbacks, but the reality is that doesn’t mean much. However, I think Jones is the right man for the job, and the patriots will challenge him at the end for a wildcard playoff spot.
17) Indianapolis Colts
Carson Wentz is playing well, and if they can get a win at home against Tennessee this coming weekend, things could get very interesting in Indy.
16) Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers are in a position to make a playoff run behind a solid defense and running game. The question that has to be asked, though, is Big Ben will be consistent throughout the season.
15) Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings are a talented football team, and they should be able to challenge for a wild card spot.
14) Kansas City Chiefs
Most of the issues with this team center around their defensive issues, and I don’t see how they can fix that now and become a Super Bowl contender.
13) New Orleans Saints
The Saints run the ball and play physically on the defensive side of the ball. This team should grab a wild card spot as long as Jameis Winston doesn’t become a turnover machine again.
12) Cleveland Browns
The Browns are an excellent team that is being destroyed by injuries. If they get healthy in the next couple of weeks, they should still be a playoff team.
11) LA Chargers
The Chargers had a bye week after sustaining a 31-6 beating at Baltimore last week. However, if the run defense doesn’t improve, this team could have issues even making the playoffs.
10) Baltimore Ravens
What a difference a week makes; just last week, many people thought that the Ravens were the best team in the AFC. I don’t think anybody thinks that anymore as the Bengals destroyed them.
9) Las Vegas Raiders
Was Jon Gruden a lousy influence in Las Vegas? Instead, the Raiders are playing loose and relaxed, and to make it even better, Derek Carr looks like an early MVP candidate and maybe even the favorite right now.
8) Buffalo Bills
The AFC has tightened up. The Bills had a free week to lick their wounds after last week’s loss to the Titans. To me, the Bills, in the end, almost have to be the Super Bowl favorite out of the AFC, and their ranking on this list should only improve.
7) Tennessee Titans
The Titans pass rush took part Patrick Mahomes on Sunday. The Titans defense seems to be improving finally, and if the defense is just average, the Titans will be a Super Bowl contender.
6) Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys are leading the NFC East, and that’s no surprise; the surprise comes that the offense is explosive and the defense is excellent. In addition, the Cowboys are coming off a bye and should be well-rested and ready to go.
5) Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals rolled Baltimore on Sunday 41-17; the defense was stifling, led by second-year star Logan Wilson and Joe Burrow throwing the ball to Ja’marr Chase looks unstoppable right now. As long as Joe Burrow is healthy, the Bengals are a Super Bowl contender.
4) Green Bay Packers
The running game and defense are improved for the Packers, and Aaron Rodgers looks like a man on a mission.
3) Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The rest of the NFL should be worried as it looks like the Bucs defense is starting to round into shape, and Tom Brady seems to get better each week.
2) Los Angeles Rams
The win over the Lions wasn’t impressive, but it was a win. The Rams are a complete team, and if Matthew Stafford stays healthy, they will make a serious Super Bowl run.
1) Arizona Cardinals
The Cardinals came out flat against Houston and fell behind 5-0. Then they woke up and dominated the rest of the game. Kyler Murray has to be at the top of everybody’s shortlist for MVP honors.
