1) Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Bucs survived 4 turnovers and gave up well over 400 yards of offense, but they still survived and beat the Dallas Cowboys. If you are going to beat the Bucs, my guess is you better do it soon before they start clicking on all cylinders.
The most concerning thing about this game for Chiefs fans has to be the defense. On offense, though, no concerns exist. But, to win a Super Bowl, the defense will have to tighten up.
Matthew Stafford was a monster against the Bears on Sunday night, this is a career re-birth, and the Rams defense isn’t too bad either.
The Seahawks defense was smothering, the run game powerful, and Russell Wilson was red-hot. It almost looked like 2013 all over again in Seattle.
The Saints, for lack of a better word, bullied the Green Bay Packers on both sides of the ball. Jameis Winston was efficient and deadly as the Saints proved that they have one of the best rosters in the NFL.
Almost nobody expected the Steelers to go into Buffalo and beat up the Bills, but they did just that on Sunday. People have slept on the Steelers in the off-season, but they have a great defense, and Najee Harris will eventually start to roll. I am not totally convinced yet on the Steelers, but they looked outstanding last weekend.
The Browns whipped the Chiefs for 50 minutes, and then Mahomes struck, and before you know it, the Browns were limping home with a loss. So I took away from this game because the Browns are a real Super Bowl contender this year.
The Cardinals struck early and often as they shut down Derrick Henry and the Titans. As a result, the NFC West is shaping up as maybe the best division in the NFL this season.
The 49ers devastated the Lions for most of the game before the Lions staged a furious comeback. The Niners suffered more injuries last year than just about any team in the league, and already, after week 1, the injuries are starting to strike again.
Justin Herbert looked like an absolute beast during most of the win over Washington, but he had two interceptions that he will need to clean up if the Chargers are contenders.
The Dolphins got a big road victory in New England courtesy of the defense. The Dolphins look like they will be around all year in an AFC East race that is growing more and more wide-open by the day.
There can be no doubt after week 1 that Teddy Bridgewater is the best man to start at quarterback in Denver this season, and the defense was suffocating.
The Patriots fumbled the game away, going to win the game on Sunday. But the defense was as advertised, and Mac Jones was sharp.
Were the Eagles that good, or were the Falcons that bad? We will find out shortly, but for now, Jalen Hurts like the future in Philly!
Are the Bills overrated? Probably not, but they need to get rolling soon.
The Bengals defense and Offensive line are much improved, and Joe Burrow looked good in his first game back. The question now will be, is the coaching good enough?
The Raiders came back and beat the Baltimore Ravens on Monday night. I still think they lack enough weapons on both sides of the ball to contend, but it was a great win.
The Cowboys should have beaten Tampa last Thursday night, but they came up short. They are ranked this low because I don’t want to give too much credit for a loss to a team I didn’t expect too much from at the beginning of the season.
No running game, no defense, and Aaron Rodgers did not look like himself. Was this an anomaly? We will soon find out.
The Ravens couldn’t run the ball, and the concern has to be that for a team that prides itself on running the ball.
The Titans did not look good in getting dismantled by the Cardinals. I assume it’s just a one-time thing, but it is still very concerning for Titans fans.
The Colts offensive line was not dominant, and the defense overall was disappointing.
Kirk Cousins played well, but Dalvin Cook got shut down. The Vikings have some issues they need to get straightened out right away.
With Ryan Fitzpatrick now out, what are the Redskins going to do at the Quarterback position?
Darnold got his revenge, but the most exciting thing about this game for Panthers fans was the Carolina defense.
Daniel Jones did not play badly, that is until an untimely fumble in the second half changed the game. I think I have written this before.
Don’t blame Andy Dalton for this loss; that blame lies with the Bear’s defense.
The Falcons are bad, and every team from here on out on this list has a real shot at getting the first pick in next year’s draft.
They won, but they were playing the Jaguars.
The Lions showed toughness in coming back, but they showed exactly how bad they were by falling that far behind in the first place.
The Jets offensive line is bad, the defense is not very good, and they are lucky Jacksonville is in the NFL.
Urban Meyer and Trevor Lawrence are not used to losing; they will be accustomed to it soon.
