The NFC East, AFC East, NFC North, AFC South, AFC North and NFC South Free Agency report cards are in. It is now time for the NFC West.
Additions and Re-signs:
Kyle Juszczyk (FB – Balt), Pierre Garcon (WR- Wash), Brian Hoyer (QB- Chi), Matt Barkley (QB- Chi), Brock Coyle (LB- Sea), Aldrick Robinson (WR- Atl), Marquise Goodwin (WR- Buf), Dekoda Watson (LB- Den), DuJuan Harris (RB), Malcom Smith (LB- Oak), Earl Mitchell (DT- Mia), Christopher Jones (DT), Don Jones (S- Jax), Robbie Gould (K- NYG), Jeremy Zuttah (G/C- Balt), Logan Paulsen (TE- Chi), Jeremy Kerley (WR), Ray-Ray Armstrong (LB)
Losses:
Antoine Bethea (S- Ariz), Phil Dawson (K- Ariz), Torrey Smith (WR- Phi), Shaun Draughn (RB- NYG), Quinton Patton (WR- NYJ), Michael Wilhoite (LB- Sea)
The 49ers had to begin repairing a depleted roster and overall filled several holes well. Brian Hoyer is a good stop-gap quarterback at this point and Barkley is a solid backup.
Offensively Pierre Garcon, Marquise Goodwin and Kyle Juszczyk provide good weapons to build around. Logan Paulsen is a good blocking tight end who is good in the redzone. Jeremy Zuttah should be the missing piece at center and add the final touch to a solid offensive line.
Malcom Smith adds veteran leadership to the linebacking corps.
They didn’t lose much in the way of talent and heading into the draft, the 49ers had a decent offseason.
Arizona:
Additions and Re-signs:
Chandler Jones (LB), AQ Shipley (C), Jarvis Jones (DE- Pit), Karlos Dansby (LB- Cin), Antoine Bethea (S- SF), Jeremy Ross (WR), Andre Ellington (RB), Josh Mauro (DE), Jermaine Gresham (TE), Frostee Rucker (DT), Phil Dawson (K)
Losses:
Marcus Cooper (CB- Chi), Kevin Minter (LB- Cin), Calias Campbell (DT- Jax), Chandler Catanzaro (K- Jets), Darren Fells (TE- Det), Tony Jefferson (S- Balt), DJ Swearinger (S- Wash), Tharold Simon (CB- Wash)
Arizona is in a tough spot with Carson Palmer and Larry Fitzgerald possibly playing their last season. The offense should be good if they can stay healthy.
On defense, locking up Chandler Jones and signing Jarvis Jones will help. The losses of Calias Campbell, Kevin Minter and Tony Jefferson will hurt, but they did bring adequate replacements in.
Los Angeles Rams:
Additions and Re-signs:
Andrew Whitworth (T- Cin), Robert Woods (WR- Buf), Kayvon Webster (CB- Den), Lance Dunbar (RB- Dal), Tyrunn Walker (DT- Det), Conor Barwin (DE- Phi), Greg Zuerlein (K)
Losses:
Benny Cunningham (RB- Chi), Kenny Britt (WR- Clev), Lance Kendricks (TE- GB), Brian Quick (WR- Wash)
The Rams didn’t make a huge splash but Andrew Whitworth and Conor Barwin bring some leadership to the team. Robert Woods is a good replacement for the loss of Kenny Britt.
Seattle:
Additions and Re-signs:
Bradley McDougald (S- Tampa), Eddie Lacy (RB- GB), Deshawn Shead (CB), Luke Joeckel (G- Jax), Arthur Brown (LB- Jets), Oday Aboushi (G- Hou), Neiko Thorpe (CB), Terence Garvin (LB- Wash), Michael Wilhoite (LB- SF), John Lunsford (K- Tampa), Luke Wilson (TE), Blair Walsh (K- Min)
Losses:
Brock Coyle (LB- SF), John Jenkins (DT- Chi), Steven Hauschka (K- Buf), Brandon D Williams (TE- Indy), Damontre Moore (DE- Dal)
If the Seahawks can fix Eddie Lacy, their offense could be very hard to stop. Seattle addressed the guard position. Getting Deshawn Shead back was big.
