Cowboys Fined for Remittance Policy After Damontre’ Moore’s Suspension
Cowboys fans continue to receive bad news and at this point it’s getting outrageous. According to NBC Sports, the Cowboys are faced with a fine from the NFL under the league’s “remittance policy”. Damontre’ Moore’s suspension, which was announced last week, gives the Cowboys three suspensions since the league year began. But WAIT the actual season hasn’t even began!
The NFL is settling its settlement strategy, as indicated by ESPN’s Todd Archer, yet the league fined the Cowboys $500,000 last season for suspensions to Rolando McClain, Randy Gregory, and Demarcus Lawrence.
In addition to the madness of the 2016 arrangement, the alliance would dock the Cowboys 25 percent of the base compensations the suspended players will lose. We’re talking about $91,000 out of their pockets. That’s not pity change you step on while walking down the street.
I believe the NFL should take into consideration that these athletes aren’t just athletes. Most are fathers who depend on their paychecks to care for their families, just like any normal person.
To make matters worse for the Cowboys, three different players, Ezekiel Elliott, Nolan Carroll, and Damien Wilson, face suspensions, which could increase the team’s fine to the most extreme, and I’m talking about big money, up to $500,000.
The NFL created the club remittance policy to hold teams accountable for acquiring players who have violated league policies.
