1) Matt Nichols, Winnipeg Blue Bombers

The Blue Bombers got back on track in a 48-28 victory over the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Matt Nichols was a huge reason for that victory. On the season, Nichols has thrown 22 TD passes and just 7 interceptions, and it looks like all questions about Nichols’ abilities have been answered.

2) Bo Levi Mitchell, Calgary Stampeders

Mitchell, even if the stats aren’t there, always seems to have total control of the game. The Stamps with Mitchell at the helm have to be the favorites to win the Grey Cup.

3) Mike Reilly, Edmonton Eskimos

Reilly being at QB for the Eskimos is why Eskimo fans can still hold out hope for the season. The Eskimos played much better in a close loss to Calgary than they had in quite sometime, but the need a win soon.

4) Kevin Glenn, Saskatchewan Roughriders

The Roughriders winning streak was ended in Saskatchewan, but that doesn’t change the fact that the Riders are back in the playoff hunt largely because of the play of Glenn and a very dangerous receiving corps.

5) Ricky Ray, Toronto Argonauts

Ray has been outstanding all year and if he can stay healthy the Argos could win the division. Without Ray they have no chance.

6) Trevor Harris, Ottawa Redblacks

Harris went down in the third quarter with an injury as the Redblacks were upset by the Hamilton Ti-Cats. As we went to press with the article the severity of the injury had not been established, but if the injury sidelines Harris for more than a week or two the Redblacks are in serious trouble.

7) Jonathon Jennings, B.C.Lions

The Lions chances at a Grey Cup run rest solely on the shoulders of Jennings after the injury to Travis Lulay. Is Jennings up to the task? I don’t think so. He has a tendency to force throws and turn the ball over. If he can eliminate the turnovers he could help the Lions make a run. I have seen no evidence that could happen though.

8) Jeremiah Masoli, Hamilton Ti-Cats

Masoli played well enough to get the Ti-Cats their first two wins of the season.

9) Darian Durant, Montreal Alouettes

After a solid first half of the season, Durant has been on a run of bad games. If he doesn’t get going soon the Alouettes will be out of contention.
