CFL Power Rankings Week 15 2017

CFL Power Rankings Week 15

1) Calgary Stampeders

The Stamps clinched a playoff spot with this win, their ninth in a row — despite not finding the endzone on Sunday. Kicker Rene Paredes went 5-for-5 on field-goal duty to produce all 15 of the visitors’ points. The Stamps are the class of the CFL because of a great defense.

Next Up: Host Montreal Aloettes

2) Winnipeg Blue Bombers

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers did not give up the lead all game as they cruised to a 29-9 victory over the Ottawa REDBLACKS at Investors Group Field. The Bombers were led by Receiver Darvin Adams on offence for the Bombers as he accounted for 195 yards and a touchdown on seven catches while quarterback Matt Nichols completed 23 of 34 passes for 319 yards with two touchdowns and an interception.

Next Up: @Edmonton Eskimos

3) Saskatchewan Roughriders

The Riders even though they lost have to be considered a serious threat after Sunday’s 15-9 loss to the Stampeders. They played well defensively, but could do nothing on offense against the stout Stamps defense.

Next Up: @Ottawa Redblacks

4) Toronto Argonauts

The Toronto Argonauts reclaimed the CFL East division lead on Saturday with a 33-19 victory over the Montreal Alouettes. Running back James Wilder Jr. once again was the story of the game as he put together another dominant performance as the Argos’ feature back, finishing the game with 218 totals yards, including 141 yards on the ground and 77 yards receiving. Wilder has accumulated an incredible 475 total yards in the past two games alone. Ricky Ray was solid, but with Wilder running the ball the way he has been the Argos are looking like a possible threat if they make it to the playoffs.

Next Up: @Hamilton Ti-Cats

5) Hamilton Ti-Cats

June Jones has done an amazing job since taking over as the Ti-Cats Head Coach. Sergio Castillo‘s field goal with 10 seconds remaining was the deciding factor for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats to beat the BC Lions 24-23 on Friday night. The Ti-Cats will now host Toronto and if they win that game they will be in playoff contention.

Next Up: Host Toronto Argonauts

6) Edmonton Eskimos

Hard to separate the teams from here on down. I put the Eskimos above the others because they didn’t lose this past week, but then again they were on a bye week.

Next Up: Host Winnipeg Blue Bombers

7) B.C.Lions

The Lions lost at home to Hamilton, but who would have thought that possible a month ago?

Next Up: BYE

8) Ottawa Redblacks

The Redblacks are a rudderless ship without Trevor Harris under center.

Next Up: Host Saskatchewan Roughriders

9) Montreal Alouettes

The Als are just a bad football team right now, and I don’t think there is much hope left in the Alouettes season.

Next Up: @Calgary Stampeders
