1) Calgary Stampeders
After losing last week and trailing for 39 minutes this week, the Calgary Stampeders righted the ship and eventually put it in cruise control en route to a 39-26 win over the visiting Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Saturday at McMahon Stadium. The Stamps are clearly the best team in the CFL even after last week’s loss and they proved it once again after a slow start.
While the Riders may not have the second best record in the CFL, they are at this moment the second best team. The Roughriders came out on top with a 24-21 road victory against the BC Lions on Saturday night. The Riders have now improved their season record to 5-4 to move into third place in the CFL West.
The Redblacks looked poised to run away from the east if they can find any level of consistency.
Just when you thought the Eskimos were going to start to roll, this happens! The Eskimos, after playing very well in the first half, blew a 24-10 lead in the second half as the Ti-Cats shut down the Eskimos defense in the second half.
Despite falling to a 24-10 deficit by halftime, the Tiger-Cats defense held the Eskimos scoreless in the second half, allowing Jeremiah Masoli and the offense to claw back and take the win at home.
When Andrew Harris is limited to just 13 yards rushing, the Bombers are going to be in a lot of trouble, especially playing against the Calgary Stampeders.
The Lions lost a close one at home to the Riders, but with Lulay at the helm, the Lions are playing ok football. They just can’t seem to get over the hump and finish games.
They lost to the Alouettes and they are lucky that the Als have been terrible all year or they would have fallen to last place.
Who needs Johnny Manziel? Antonio Pipkin ran for two touchdowns and Boris Bede kicked a late go-ahead field goal, sending the Montreal Alouettes to a 25-22 win over the Toronto Argonauts Friday night in Montreal.
