The 2-1 Buffalo Bills are packing their bags once more and head to Atlanta to face the undefeated 3-0 Falcons. While they are not favored to beat the Super Bowl LI participants, could they hand over another loss to an undefeated team like last week against the Broncos?
Stopping Julio Jones
There’s no question that Julio Jones is an elite wide receiver. All eyes are on Bills’ cornerback E.J. Gaines as he attempts to slow down Jones. Going into Week 4, Gaines is in the Top 10 for Cornerbacks, per Pro Football Focus. Remember, the Bills traded Sammy Watkins for Gaines. He’s been having a solid season so far, but he’ll have the ultimate test this week.
Rookie Tre’davious White is starting off the season right. He nabbed NFL Defensive Rookie of the Month for September and he also leads the NFL in passes defensed with 7. Much like his fellow teammate Gaines, he has a tough task to cover the Falcons offensive weapons.
Through three weeks, Pro Football Focus reported the top quarterback grades and Tyrod Taylor came in third behind good company, Tom Brady and Drew Brees. Taylor is known to play conservatively and acknowledged that turnovers can be a huge factor in losing a game. Taylor is focused on improving the Bills offensive game. Who do I think Taylor will be targeting the most this week? Tight End Charles Clay.
Bills Running Back LeSean McCoy really needs to ignite a spark to the Bills running game. For the past few seasons, the Bills have prided themselves in a strong rushing attack. “Shady’s” running game has been stalled to a total of 30 yards in the games against Carolina and Denver. He’s focused on getting his game back on track for the Falcons and we’ll see if his running game breaks out this week.
